Fizzy if you are underwater and fed up about it you have my sympathy. In my early years of investing I had a few of them.
My solution in the end was to sell those investments, take the loss on the chin and move on. And you know what? I always felt much better afterwards. What I never did was spend months complaining about a poor investment and blaming everyone else for my bad decision, l always took responsibility for my buying and selling.
If I were you I would spend a little less time worrying about whether Pdub is happy with his investment and focus more on what you need to do .... and then do it. But please stop the whinging!
I will share this with you. When I first invested in BMN as a wannabe iron ore miner I did not think for one minute that the company would be where it is now ... two primary vanadium plants, huge in ground vanadium resources with an expanding mining division, a leading player in the fledgling VRFB market and gearing up to produce electrolyte, all leading to becoming a large low cost vertically integrated vanadium platform. And some very exciting possible future developments eg iron ore? Am I happy with all this? OH YES! This exceeds what my expectations were for this company when I first invested. The BoD delivered big time.
Of course I am not happy with the share price (even though I got in early enough to still be in profit). Who would be. Certainly not Fortune as I believe he has several million shares and I dare say is as keen for a rise in sp as you and I are.
I am convinced that the market will eventually function properly and the share price will accurately reflect the value of the company.
Pdub. You were say its only a matter of time years ago. As long as you are happy. Who am I to question your feelings toward the company and bod. For me it's not been a good 3 year investment
Hi dbb, "How far back does your cronjob go, have you a link? I've been noticing these £10.01k trades for around a year now, the MM's seem to use them to pin the price back when they run out of ammo. This morning they opened with a few just after the Bell and put them in at strategic times in the day."
The list for BMN since June 5th last year is at http://luku.org/list/BMN.txt
Putting aside the fact that it is hard to believe the MMs would have such an odd stratagem, there appear to have been 182 trades since last June having values between £10,005 and £10,015 - including a spectacular snowstorm of 11 such trades on the morning of July 6th:

Is that suspicious or what??
Fizzydrink here are a couple of definitions of a growing business:
“The process of improving some measure of an enterprise's success. Business growth can be achieved either by boosting the top line or revenue of the business with greater product sales or service income, or by increasing the bottom line or profitability of the operation by minimizing costs”
(My view: BMN are working hard at doing both ie increasing sales and reducing costs.)
“Business Growth is a stage where the business reaches the point for expansion and seeks additional options to generate more profit.”
(My view: BMN are most certainly doing this. They bought a second production plant Vanchem, and are investing to expand production at both Vametco and Vanchem. They are constructing an electrolyte plant and have backed various collaborations and mergers in the Energy Storage industry.)
One can find many definitions of business growth. Even these two vary in detail. There is no one size fits all definition (in my opinion) but BMN seems to fit perfectly most definitions of a growth company, and the BoD are working very hard at growing this business, and with considerable success. That is not the same as saying that everything has gone to plan but overall this company has shown very significant growth in the last 5 years and continues to do so. The future looks very exciting.
In my opinion it is only a matter of time before the market values BMN properly and the share price is much higher than today. It is a great frustration that due to my health I may not live to see all of that share price growth but I think those with patience will be very well rewarded.
The above is just my opinion.
Fizzydrink I understand your frustration at being underwater.
However please reassure me that you are not using share price to define whether a business is growing. Even more so that you are not using a short period like since the start of the year?
As for comparing to all time high sp again that does not define a growing business.
You really do need to take a longer term view if you are anything but a trader.
As for the rest of your post, where have I said that they think the sp represents fair value?
Fizzy, you’re completely missing the point. Fortune IS Bushveld Minerals. Without him there isn’t a lot left. There is no team that can take over with the knowledge and experience required without significant delay to the plans in place.
You are being very naive.
I have tried my luck elsewhere and am doing very well in shares. That's not to say I am dissatisfied in how bmn is performing and would therefore like something to chnage. I. E the bod. If you are happy then great. You sound like someone who would celebrate their football team not being relegated as seen that as an achievement
I'm going to say it one more time then I will shut up. The lack of communication and self promotion is deliberate. It has to be.
The obvious question then is, why?
I have espoused my own theory on this for a few years now and I'm not going to repeat myself again. Check my posting history if you want.
However, everytime they have been doubted in the past they have pulled a rabbit out of the hat.
Whilst I may be wrong (and then again I may not) on the why, I have no doubt that there is a good reason that will ultimately benefit the shareholders.
It's simply what they have done for the last 8 years.
I am as frustrated as anyone about the SP but that didn't stop me buying more a week ago.
For the record I am slightly underwater here.
Fizzydrink, clearly you have made a loss having bought when the vanadium price and shareprice were much higher. That is not the BoD's fault it is your greed in hoping that the sp would rise higher with a further spike in the vanadium price, your bad judgement. obviously I am sorry for those that are in a loss situation. If you have lost faith in the co and the BoD the answer's simple sell and try your luck elsewhere.
I too am underwater here and will be for a little while. The difference between us is that I can see how the BoD have strengthened the company immeasurably over the last 18 months, even though currently this isn't shown in the sp. I remain a holder and still firmly believe that this will all come good. Obviously you are entitled to your opinion but it really ought to be backed up by facts, rather than a swipe at the BoD.
Are you genuinely using ATHs and YTD share price as the metric for whether or not BMN is a growing business? The share price is one factor to take into account but share prices can spike wildly in either direction for reasons such as hype, spikes in the price of an underlying asset, shorting, a freak event like covid etc.
If you're going to use share price to measure the growth of a business at least average out a year's share price and compare it year on year over four or five years to see if the trend is positive or negative.
Pdub, how are you defining a growing business? The sp and mcap is 18% less than the start of the year and 65% down on its highs. Why do you feel this is acceptable and a Bod worth worshiping. This obsession of some holders is almost religious. I bet some of you surround yourself in vanadium and prey to the Lord fortune. It's madness. Hardly anyone invested in Bmn has made any reasonable return. Enough is enough. New bod and new future. Old bod has failed us
Hi Alfa nice to see your back you’ve been mist buddy at last we have proper research back now all the best and thank you for your hard work cheers
@Cindercone... You epitomise the analogy.. " never play chess with pigeons"
For the uneducated.
The land on your board and knock all the pieces over.
Then they s++t all over the place and finally strut about like they own it.
Jog on troll.
Chos, fizzy, cinder ….a bunch of &£);/
I see the madness is contagious!
Think about it. The Vanadium industry is following where BMN led. The day will come where this is reflected in the share price.
I understand people’s frustration with the share price, I share it. But this is not just about PR. There are many factors affecting BMNs share price and I don’t believe the AIM market is functioning efficiently in this respect.
Having said that I don’t understand why BMN have such a blind spot with PR and how to manage AIM. Yes I do wish they would listen and yes we need to keep sending that message to them until finally they get it and act. I am an advocate of messaging the BoD direct rather than venting ones frustration repeatedly on a bb. However that is only my opinion, it doesn’t make me right and others are free to do as they please. Just consider whether your actions are in your best interests as a shareholder.
In the meantime I am very supportive of the BoDs actions in managing and growing the business. Not all is perfect about BMN but the6 continue to get the important bit right … the business.
I have said fir a while we need a Bod change. The bod do not have investors interest in mind. Imo.
Look at the EUA board tonight. I am in that share big time and it's been an absolute pleasure. A great bod. Sadly bp. Is my biggest holding followed by bmn and then eua. Still, bp is recovering well and out of hours rns on eua makes it all worth it. Just the daily bmn disappointment to deal with. A new bod woukd be very welcome or at least no bonus other than shares that cannot be sold for less than 40p
Great to hear from you Alfa!
And yes completely agree with you, Pdub, Sanchez, and others that CHoS’s idea is goddamn awful.
Fortune has my utmost support, and I would feel far less confident without him captaining the ship!
"It seems the idiots have taken over the asylum here, which is precisely why I don't post here any more."
You must be an idiot then because you were the one that took the 'asylum' over with your minute-by-minute commentary. Been far more balanced since you left, so stay away please.
Change the BOD? I don't think so, but something needs to change. FM has defended Mikael on socials and spoken about all the progress BMN is making, problem is, they're the only ones getting rewarded. They get a nice salary and bonus shares - investors get sweet FA.
We're suffering because of the bad investment partners they brought on board, most of which have sold out. A necessary evil? Perhaps. When the selling stops this should rise organically and we'll hopefully start seeing a pathway to increasingly positive news flow. If that doesn't happen over the next 12 months, something more than complaining on a bulletin board needs to be done about it.
Hi taufour, How far back does your cronjob go, have you a link? I've been noticing these £10.01k trades for around a year now, the MM's seem to use them to pin the price back when they run out of ammo. This morning they opened with a few just after the Bell and put them in at strategic times in the day. Sometimes I've seen 10-15 in a day. I feel they are from the same entity.
Maybe I've been here to long and going a bit BMN crazy. ¯\_( ????? ??)_/¯
chos are you high ??
WTF a post from Alfa, always a pleasure.
To be fair Alfa I see you have to contend with lunatics on other boards (IES), so you may as well still post here.
No need to remove anyone from the BOD. The mining side of the business is doing fine and will develop nicely. Although I think the growth has cost us more than perhaps it needed to due to the share price being neglected.
I would dearly like to know what BE/Mikhail are doing however.
Alfa, literally one person said that. Chill out.
Good to know, Sanchez. Thank you for that.
And Pigpen/numpty too.
I also am completely against such a stupid idea. It seems the idiots have taken over the asylum here, which is precisely why I don't post here any more.
