I would find it odd if there wasn't significant news about the LFTs before this presentation. I say that because they've given a commercial launch date for the LFTS around the end of q1. And they aren't obliged to do the presentation at this stage
But then this is AIM and nothing is guaranteed.
MCB, I reckon the test site (The hospital in Spain?), will be in daily contact with AVCT on how the testing is going and passing on the results as they go. The hold up according to AS, is a lack of samples so I think the conversation has probably gone along the lines of maybe last week:" 6 cases to go and at the present rate of past and now current infection admittance, that will be completed in the next 2 days or end of next week at the very, very latest"
AS then gives him self another 3 or 4 days for wiggle room and announces the IP for 9 days time knowing that he will be dropping THE rns before then. (The IP itself is already well done and dusted and ready to go.) That's my best guess.
And if for some reason the last samples don't materialise then he will go with what is going to be already a large validation, and the last few won't make a material difference to the outcome, (which he already has the data for).
Key milestone - Think CEO will announce as soon as possible when achieved .
"Our next key milestone is full clinical validation and CE marking of our lateral flow antigen test which we anticipate will be around the end of this quarter and I look forward to updating the market when that milestone is achieved."
Yes they will want to release news as close as possible to the IP day, however they can't artificially hold sp sensitive news back by much, so maybe no more than a day or two (they can use the excuse of getting all the data together for an rns, but not for long though!). So this week or maybe early next week.
Here’s my thinking:
Avacta didn’t need to announce next week for results, as commented elsewhere they could do this any time in the next two and a half months.
They aren’t going to will fully go into results with so much open speculation around the LFT when they don’t need to.
Full results take a lot of prep time. I imagine next week will be filled with getting ready for it, rehearsals, etc.
Strongly suspect therefore that LFT news will come this week, do the interviews, etc around that then have a clear run next week at the results with that big distraction out of the way.
Rich, most presentations that are backward looking will still reference to how the year has started and whats likely going forward, if even in vague terms.
ND is right in my view, AVCT could not possibly, in this febrile environment, with so much money at stake for a successful test, simply ignore the topic.
Not sure if this response would be classed as disagreeing, other than the way the questions are posed.
The presentation is about results to December I believe.
Can't see any reason for negative comments being made in a presentation, particularly given the analysts briefing beforehand.
Not clear on any link between a results presentation and one specific product.
All the best.
I for one fully agree with you. The share price may go up or the share price may go down or there is a possibility that it will stay the same. If it goes up its good if it goes down its bad if it stays the same its meh. Im a bit concerned if it goes down but anxious if its the same price and nervous on getting the top right to sell out. Anyone agree?
When the link to AffiDX on this page becomes live then we are in :)

Why would they have reinstated these pages after removing them the other day?
Tim, I do remember you saying that as it happens but, we have had an RNS in between. I don't know if PL is right that the events are disconnected. Personally, at such a critical time if the history of AVCT ,I don't think they would have this date simply as a co-incidence.
Likewise I think the odds of good news before outweigh the chance of bad news breaking on the day presentation.
But todays reaction shows how nervous the AVCT market is. And all info to me, is useful.
I'm sorry Wyn but I have just filtered you for the most petty of reasons.
imo you are too clever for your own good...………..
I'm sure you'll be relieved to know you'll be off my "naughty step" after a couple of days!
@wyndrum d'you remember I said yesterday I expected to be down and you seemed surprised.
Well today's SP action is exactly what I expected yesterday its hardly anything to be worried about 4-5% down. The nervous that think we are late for CV or traders thinking they might have a few more days now there is an investor event next Thursday.
As PL75 says next Thursday is nothing to do with CV that could still appear at any time, and will do once its complete.
today is normal for a non news day (I wouldn't regard today's news as price moving news) in avacta's recent times.
Its amusing to see all the doom mongers trying to jump on a 5% drop as a disaster and we've all been let down by the CEO who's taken this Share price to new all time highs this year already.
