ST, what reputation?
Must say, since my wife handed her SIPP management to me, I just sold her BOO holding and bought AVCT at 173p. An opportunity really.
Not in a million would AS risk his reputation and that of avacta on such a sale, if all it may only show his honesty by such a move. The wife wanted "that" house and "now" and he simply went for it. He's just a husband and a human like us in the end.
I trust the lad and I believe in the affimer technology.
Thank you all those who sold just now in advance.
ST
ShearClass - The guys is buying a frigging house! You cant tell the seller or the bank "oh hold on mate can we just do this when my shares in the Co are worth a bit more, I'm the CEO so all is good". IF he needs the cash he needs the cash.
I'm sure he planned on the SP being higher but delays (that aren't AVCT's) have kept a lid on that.
People saying this is shady are mad. He need some cash so sold his shares
This is all too reminiscent of early April's dodgy timing.
They had 2 x placings at 18p, one with the wife of the Zeus founder & boohoo, the other with II's. They raised about £8m just a couple of days before releasing the news they had been working on a rapid covid test since mid March. Why did they raise before they released the news???? Why not release it & then raise at £1? The placees have 10 bagged on news that should have been released to the market.
This time it's the CEO cashing in £500k of shares before they have released a product. Why not release the goddam product first and then cash in some shares at a higher price? Nobody would be complaining then!
This time next year once this is all over and the dust has settled, if AVCT haven't commercialised anything then some very serious questions need to be asked here.
I’ll keep repeating these as the bashers are out in force.
3.8% of his holding. The man presumably has kids and bills like the rest of us. This for a house. Try telling the seller ‘please wait I’ve got some big news due’.... like he gives a ****
If it was negative news driven HE is NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED TO SELL THE STOCK.
I recall identical conversations with the CEO of greatland gold around 12p. They were at 27p a few weeks later.
As I said, amateur hour.
Great chance for a top up (if you can buy without NT!).
Finally, if you want to be really cynical, Big Al can award his shares when he wants (pretty much!) he will also be looking to fund future share options I’m sure.
Your not a holder you clown you told us all you were waiting for £1.20 remember Billy?
He is buying a house with the gains from the 20-40p range which we were trading in, before Avacta announced that they could produce an instant saliva test for Covid. I think it is appalling for him to be selling his stock before we get a produce to market. sends a terrible message. If he didn't need to sell stock to buy the house then why has he. Frankly i am losing faith that we will get anything out .
Bought more. Absolute gift. Director selling some shares to buy a house. Well done! 5 & 15 min charts looking bouncy again. Drop done?
Very good point Hants, I am in the process of buying a house and we agreed a price with the vendors in July, last week, the sale was knocked into Jan 2021 due to delays in the chain, principally, local authority searches, mortgage offers, surveys etc etc. at the moment the housing chain is an absolute joke.
There is no way that Al will have had any control over the timing of this, if indeed he is telling the truth. As you suggest, he (and his family) will probably have instigated this purchase months ago and its nothing but timing that his conveyancer has requested the funds now.

massive over reaction here - but it does depressingly mean no news soon
Of course he is going to say its for a property what else is he going to say?

Buying a house (in normal) the times is a 2 to 3 month process. All transactions are extremely protracted at present. Lenders booking mortgage valuations over 6 weeks in advance (it can take months just to get a mortgage offer at present), local searches delayed, etc.
If sir al is in a chain and there have been delays (very likely) he could well have agreed to buy the house 6 months ago thinking the test would be to market by now. He may have found himself in the position of choosing between pulling out of the purchase and losing the house his family want or keeping his full holding.
Benefit of the doubt.

People on this board are intentionally trying to panic novice PI's. The RNS is very clear on his ordinary shares and options he holds.
Yep, can't believe the reaction. "Why sell now when this will be double the price in a few months?
Erm, because he needs the money for a house now and can't give the sellers a promissory note that he'll have more money than they can dream of in a few months...
Greed really is starting to take over these boards!
If ever you need proof the shareholder base of avacta is driven by idiot PIs, today is your proof!
Remarkable. I hope G.Heddle is watching and chuckling...
Read the RNS, to acquire a property .

Absolutely amateur hour. The guy is buying a house, presumably better than the one he has and in an area where nice houses don't come up very often.
Can't believe the reaction of some so called holders but time to buy.
Cave Exigo
Never usually begrudge a director taking some profit, but if this was going to do half what he claimed i would live in a field for 6 months rather than sell to buy a house now.
