China created Covid 19 in Wuhan lab as a bio weapon, and it escaped?… forget about any fury animal in the Wuhan market, that is a complete joke!!! China has started a biological war with the rest of the world and they have managed to almost escape the effects of the virus, obviously they had it all planned to disrupt the western economies for their benefit. Maybe the West should send in some agents with Omicron to balance things up a bit?

Yes pedro.....unless they know before that the LFT they'll take is the best.
Yes pedro,
I booked a family trip to Iceland for early January last week which I will now be cancelling. Who wants to risk the chance of getting stuck at great expense abroad due perhaps to an inferior test.
@travel_light: Cypriot (AKA: Chinese carp as everywhere else) LFT tests meet the criteria (they got such issues sorted long ago - sensitivity/specificity criteria that is)). However, reality is at the airport you could pretty much wave a piece of stained loo paper at the guys checking the test result (they clearly aren't interested) - but God help you if you can't show a UK PLF (or at least something in the pico-second check on your phone can't show your name on something that vaguely resembles a UK PLF) - they clearly risk fines in this regard. As I said previously, our brain dead politicians have no concept of the policy/reality interface - it's all media induced knee jerk rhetoric for fear they might look stupid (stable door, bolt ??). However, really looking forward to my next inoculation (honest) - I'm told that with four inoculation stamps on your card you get a free set of dumpy wine glasses - whaheyhey!!
It’s more so if **** hits fan they can say we did something.
If national contact was being reduced I could understand it, but this is closing door after the….
Check the LFD is in list of approved. Prob not a problem but I had to have shed load paper work last time and not every test could be used even if doc have ok
@travel_light: Bloody hell - stop press - will now also have to get a pre-departure test before leaving Cyprus to get back - says LFT or PCR (LFT currently down to 8 Euro in Paphos if you know where - until tomorrow that is when they tumble it's mandatory again - then price likely doubles !)). So, lets get this clear; I need a PCR test when I get to Cyprus, an LFT test before I leave Cyprus, a day two PCR test on arrival back from Cyprus and.......(still over 24 hours before I go??). This is for a fully vaccinated (as in three inoculations (so far)) individual who is going for a quick trip (out Monday, back Friday) to see his family. Am I missing something - as nowhere have I yet seen that the latest variant is more lethal than previous variants?
@travel_light: Last three words of my last post but one post should say 'why folks try' (or 'folks who try') - either works! Good luck with your travels - I suspect my aircraft will be near empty on Monday as a consequence of the rule changes - seen it before - top spot (to date) went to a Ryanair Bournemouth to Paphos flight earlier this year with 18 (yes - eighteen) PAX - plus crew. To say BoJo and his brain dead crew are utterly useless doesn't even get close eh!? All IMHO of course
@travel_light: I wish !!
Thanks. Not so old yet, visiting parents with their grandchildren !
@travel_light: Expert Medicals (have used them before (they got a panning recently but have upped their game as a consequence) - have now got PCR tests 'in hand' - 20 GBP each)) - next price range is Testing for All and Biograd Diagnostics (45 GPB ish each). Sadly, I've become a world expert in this travel environment - if you want to visit your grandchildren you can't beat the system - but can totally understand who folks try!
Where did you get 20 quid pcr (traveling myself soon)
Off to Cyprus on Monday to visit family - bloody nightmare. Being organised I bought day 2 LFT tests for our return (mistake) - 13 GBP a pop. Then the rules are changed requiring a PCR on day 2 because of the next iteration of a likely infinite number of variants to come has panicked UK Gov (again) - so, LFT no longer acceptable - another 20 GBP a pop please (in a brown envelope I ask?). Cyprus have, as of 00:01 hours on Monday made PCR tests mandatory for all arrivals (at your expense of course), irrespective of being fully vaccinated on not (we are - x 3 so far) - what's the point of getting vaccinated I ask if vaccinated and unvaccinated are now being treated the same?)) Oh yes, forgot, that's another 19 Euro a pop to you chief (15 Euro in Larnaca but 19 Euro in Paphos - please explain!?!?). Do the Cypriot government require brown envelopes too I wonder - should I take some in case? It's all becoming a total bloody farce - is it any wonder Jo public has got to the point (or is rapidly getting to the point) of saying - feck off?? All IMHO of course
Given Boris and the clown car are letting everyone mix freely and the new variant is in the country this is ****ing in the wind in terms of public heath care.
Pcr might help stop another new variant but test prior to flight is pointless if the variant is equally or less widespread in the country where people are traveling from. There are very few countries where it is more widespread than the Uk.
It more about looking like they are doing something, let’s just point blame at foreigners. Bloody shambles and not getting any better
Should be a negative test before departurei mo
It'll come, but needs to be worldwide
All arrivals into UK will now need to provide a negative test from Tuesday.
