Look what happened at Tesco with it's special dividend, which was far from special after a linked share reorganisation. Just to point out SD are not always as good as they seem
Great news. Maybe a juicy tax free special divi for isa holders in the pipeline here. Aviva must have a helluva cash pile due to recent sell offs and lockdown claim reductions. Any hint of a SD will push sp higher.
GLA.
Any gains made within an ISA are tax free; capital gains, dividends (including special dividends), or interest in cash accounts.
Yes - Redceo - Aviva my biggest holding at £90k. Think I need to diversify a bit more.... again recommendations?
Hi, Nuri. I have held these shares for longer than I care to remember. Always held a core volume while increasing and decreasing a further holding as warranted. I'm nicely in profit these days while holding what to me is a sizeable amount.
RMG also always hold a core, which is in profit. However decided at one stage to shift some losing element into Av. Which turned out to be a good move.
Again glad to hear your making money.
Redceo - great to see you on this forum. Did you make money on Royal Mail? I tell you last year my shares were not in a good place. What a difference a year makes. Hope you are keeping well!
"divis arent always available to spend instantly. mine cleared friday evening."
When I was with Barclays they were often two days late, which was one of the reasons why I changed to Hargreaves Lansdown.
Nuri.
It's good to see you happy :-)
divis arent always available to spend instantly. mine cleared friday evening.
Nice divi now reinvested. It’s interesting though to see how little impact individual investors have on SP movement. You would expect to have seen serious volume of share purchases as divi reinvested but Friday volume was lowest of the week and more sales than purchases. Very odd but suggests we absolutely need the big investors to get this really moving.
£3.5k dividend... have gotten £10k dividends in three years... and my share price is back to where it was.... bonus! Brilliant company to invest in.
If opted in to reinvest then HL will reinvest any income automatically for you between the 11th and 21st of the month
....I got mine today!! :-)
As soon as it's paid hopefully!!
Just been asked., when does Hfx pay Aviva divi into acct?
Hi MrMath. That's it sorted, thanks for your help.
Hi sotonspike. I have not elected to have dividends automatically reinvested. Thanks for reply.
Click on 'Cash' and then click on 'Income and Loyalty Bonus', then you will see the 'Transfer your income balance to your capital account now' option. Then you can reinvest it immediately.
The divi is being held in your account to be reinvested next month you have to opt out for your divi to be paid out ...
I've received my dividend now in my HL account. It is shown as cash in the cash column, but in the amount available to invest column it is not detailed? Any HL account holders know why this is?
I'm using HL as well and they usually pay around noon but it varies really...
Still waiting for mine as well :)
Thanks for reply Silverback01.
Normally around mid morning to mid day with HL.
I am with HL. This is the first time I will be receiving a dividend from a company. Can anyone who also has a HL account advise when the dividend is received and shows up in their account?
