MP has been to Abington manufacturing site seeing the Abc antigen test being manufactured and several other lft,s being manufactured they have also opened several manufacturing sites across York with 200 employees, news will land soon as too many different lft,s are being manufactured at the state of the art site GLA
just copied this from the AVCT site . It was posted by gje306. Thanks to him.
I interpret it as the new list will be long list to ensure they meet capacity and for the foreseeable future they will only do desk top reviews on candidates. Sounds positive to me. What do you think?
""As outlined above, we have taken the decision to proceed to legislate to implement a validation process which includes only a desktop review stage at this time. At a later stage, it is the government’s intention to implement mandatory laboratory validation as outlined in the proposals in the consultation. To do so, it will be necessary to undergo a further public consultation to ensure industry and the wider public have the opportunity to input feedback. We believe desktop review will provide us with adequate assurances in the short term to deliver upon our aims to address the immediate market failure, while we prepare to implement laboratory validation in due course."
i.e. at this stage, not porton down
Personally I'm happy with December and would see that as good news.
We only knew we were the chosen manufacturer of the knownow (Kn) test a couple of weeks ago. It was always very unlikely we would be manufacturering them by the end of this week but as said, this does not necessarily mean that the test is not on the list. It just depends if the goverment are just interested is saying what tests they approve or if they add in ones that can actually be bought in mass as well?
We had to presume that TT for the Kn test had only started a couple of weeks ago meaning it would not be ready to produce in the millions for at least 3 months. If its ready by December (start of being 6 weeks away) then TT obviously started sooner so we are more ahead than I thought.
"The List" is not as important as getting these TT's done, once they are done the test will sell, if our test are not on the original list then they will get added. Also remember every country in the world needs LFT's not just the UK.
I can't see how our test will not sell or will not make the list. You can't use NHS supplied tests so Innova and surescreen are not going to be on the list. We then have the best tests (S&S) on the market so I can't see how the goverment could ever explain why they have approved a test that is not as good as a test they have not approved??....basically its a given our test will make the list either on Friday or when all out TT's are complete.
ABDX will be aware of the delay since we are the sole manufacturer
Not a good start, we need LFT's now - wonder if AVCT has been TT'd?
If we haven't got an antigen test to manufacture or sell by now what on earth has been going on?
Hi GLR - don’t worry I didn’t take your reply in that way at all!
All the Biosure email says is the launch is delayed till December and they currently have no stock to distribute. It doesn’t say Vatic won’t be on any approved list, (although I accept the likelihood is diminished).
Thats a first I have heard of that 13M, wouldn't surprise me to be honest this company loves to keep shareholders guessing
Thanks for the reply Muck and I in no way question that you did send that email and that is the response, a few trials makes sense hence why it mentions certain sectors on the website
Vatic wont be on the list of approved sellers then, I did secretly hope it may be on there
Over to Avacta...
My understanding is that we are making tests for someone else, or several someone's, they will be on the list, not us.
My understanding of the list is it is not set in stone. I'm very confident that at least one of our products will be on the list (probably all of them) but its no end game if they aren't.
Worse case some / all are not but this would probably only be because supply can not be garenteed yet. I.e. as soon as we are ready to manufacture them in the millions they will be added.
If making the list is purely down to S&S validation numbers all our products will be on the list for sure.
In the unlikely event of a tank I'm sure it will be temporary and I would be using it as a big top up opportunity.
Going by what we do know, we will be up to fully capacity very soon.
No secret there is a LFT shortage to meet demand.
We are the biggest manufacturer of LFT's in Europe.
We are in partnerships with 3 of the best firms that have produced LFT'S (best validated S&S numbers)
A Brexit goverment that will surly want Brittish firms on that list.
Big recruitment drive been happening over the last month or so at ABDX, permanent positions
For me, that's more than enough for me to be very confident good times are ahead for this firm.
The test or tests that will be manufactured by Abbington will be on the list imo not long to go before it is official GLA
Tank why exactly ? We are less than the IPO price currently
On a positive note Abingdon have been on Twitter overdrive tonight
The markets are fickle if we aren’t on the list or have any news this week I fear we will tank.
Table 1: summary of lateral flow devices that have passed phase 3a validation
Those that end up on the list must be one of the raft of companies that have already passed the phase 3a validation?
I would be very surprised if the know now test wasn't on the list as they have been talking about the test opening up the airline industry also any test on the list doesn't need to have home approval as long as they have applied for home approval, will wait and see also we have 2 other tests that could be on their. If a test hasn't got home approval surely they cannot sell it until it has been approved jimo GLA
I would guess it'll be just the one list, but who knows.Being on the list would obviously be highly beneficial tho not sure if it would be the end of the world if not.Ordinary joe public will prob oot for the cheapest/handiest/most advertised options.Only the more diligent and reponsible people will bother to check the govt. website for approved test suppliers imo.My sister is a pharmacist and she wasn't even aware this list was being published this week.
I understand there will be a new list identifying any new company's that will be allowed to sell " at home tests".
Does anyone think that this list will be a separate list, maybe published earlier in the week? or will we just get the one list on Friday - detailing each company contracted and what they can sell (professional vs at home) .
So the govt list of suppliers is out next week. God help us if we are not on it. We will get some idea if the price rises sharply as the market is as leaky as a sieve
