Operational · Continued progress made with ongoing feasibility study ('FS') at the Company's Sonora lithium project ('Sonora') in Mexico - expected to be completed in late summer 2017 · FS is focused on an operation at Sonora capable of initially delivering 17,500 tonnes per year of battery-grade lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) for the first two years of operations, followed by 35,000 tonnes Li2CO3 pa thereafter · Successfully completed a 4,000 metre infill drilling programme to upgrade a portion of the current Mineral Resource from the Indicated to Measured category, in conjunction with geotechnical and hydrological drilling for the FS o Sonora currently has a large Indicated Resource currently comprised of 259 Mt averaging 3,200 ppm Li for 4.5 Mt of lithium carbonate equivalent ('LCE') o Resource model currently being updated by SRK Exploration Ltd · Ongoing refinement and optimisation of the lithium carbonate flow sheet developed at the Pilot Plant operations in Hermosillo in line with strategic focus on the larger lithium carbonate supply chain in Asia, rather than the smaller lithium hydroxide market · The Pilot Plant continues to produce battery grade lithium carbonate samples which are being sent to potential off-takers and customers in Asia o Discussions with potential off-take partners including site visits are ongoing · The Company is fully financed through to the completion of the FS Post Period · Acquired 50% interest in, and joint operatorship of, the Zinnwald Lithium Project ('Zinnwald') in southern Saxony, Germany from SolarWorld AG ('SolarWorld'), the largest solar panel producer in Europe · Acquisition is in line with management's vision to become a global lithium operator focused on projects with significant value accretion potential and defined markets at both the product and geographic levels · Zinnwald, which reportedly produced lithium carbonate in the 1950s, provides Bacanora with a potential entry point into the thriving market for lithium in Germany and Europe, which is being driven by the automotive, renewable energy storage and chemicals industries · Bacanora will earn 50% of the project in return for a cash consideration of €5 million and the completion of a Feasibility Study which is anticipated to cost approximately €5 million and to take approximately 18-24 months to complete. o The Company has an option to acquire the outstanding 50% held by SolarWorld within a 24 month period for €30 million Corporate · Appointment of Mark Hohnen, Non-Executive Director of the Company, as Chairman of the Board o James Leahy, interim Non-Executive Chairman, resumed his role as Non-Executive Director of the Company · Appointment of Ray Hodgkinson, who has substantial public company and natural resource experience, as a Canadian based Non-Executive Director of the Company - Mr Hodgkinson pr
RTO needed asap give then a kick up the asss. Maybe KM left to progress other assets and leave BCN to it .... something got to change soon. No wonder they tried a RTO BCN are very very slow
Meanwhile.....returning from planet 'painfully slow' back on planet normal speed we're all getting older & personally I'm becoming very grateful we're not wholly reliant on BCN to provide some forward momentum.... I've as much chance of pushing up daisies as enjoying any value they'll provide at the speed BCN are moving....... don't need the BFS to announce off-takers but I suspect we'll have to wait anyways....
We need to move on them imo, night!
yes obsever842, likely to be perceived as negative (certainly to me) I posted this last Wednesday: ~~~~~~~ I noticed in Peter Secker's interview yesterday he suggests the 'Bankable Feasibility Study' will be completed around Q3, I did email asking whether the Off-take announcement is due in Q1 and received a reply more or less saying refer to the updates and press releases. So in tandem suggests at the same time: As part of this, the Company is delivering a strategy to optimise the projects operating costs and energy requirements given the continued strengthening in reagent input costs. With this in mind, the Company now believes it will take longer than originally anticipated to ensure that the optimum energy supply for the kiln is selected, and therefore the FS is now expected to be completed in the summer of 2017. Rising costs are relevant to all Bacanora's peers, and importantly, are being experienced in tandem with a rise in lithium carbonate pricing. Bacanora Executive Chairman Mark Hohnen said, "Securing an offtake partner is a key component in our strategy to commercialise our large scale, long life lithium deposit at Sonora. We are therefore encouraged by these advanced discussions which, in our view, provide third party validation of the processing route we have put in place at our pilot plant, where battery grade lithium carbonate has been produced continuously for over six months. In tandem with securing an offtake partner, work continues on our FS to minimize any impact on our development schedule. With the completion of the FS in 2017, the year ahead is anticipated to be a transformational one for Bacanora, characterised by the development of this world class asset." Down to interpretation? I hope it's not Q3 because that will be a full year delay. ~~~~~~ Not that encouraging, IMHO
=== The Feasibility Study is ongoing and the company continues to focus on reagent costs and consumption, specifically energy and hydrometallurgical plant consumables As a result of this continued focus, on December 19, 2016, the Company announced that it will take longer than originally anticipated to complete the Feasibility Study and that it is now expected to be completed in late summer of 2017. === Late...

thanks, observer842, very interesting range of forecasts, I wish I was a fly on the wall during this conversation - German chancellor lobbies China over EV quotas http://www.autonewschina.com/en/more.asp?c=0
Great read as ever! "Lithium Miner News For The Month Of February 2017" (Feb.27.17) http://seekingalpha.com/article/4050011-lithium-miner-news-month-february-2017 === My conclusions are: China knows the EV boom is coming, as they are driving it. The battery manufacturers know it is coming also. See below. The smart money knows the EV boom is coming. ... Whichever way you look at it if EV sales take off in 2017 and we move rapidly to around 8% of new car sales being EVs by 2020, then we will need every tonne of lithium that the lithium miners can produce, and supply shortfalls may be common place. ... Dr. David Deak's presentation on lithium demand was also very interesting, and a must read for serious lithium investors. His demand expectations are well above the experts, particularly as he sees a faster and full transition to electric vehicles (EVs). I also think the experts are underestimating the demand side. === Probably the best summary he has done to date. Shame he didn't pick up on BCN's Zinnwald Lithium Project news, but at least he acknowledged that last month he slightly under-reported European Metals resource. Also, I find it a bit odd that the forecasts for lithium demand remain focussed on EV's, when in fact stationary storage, driven by the Solar boom, will likely be comparable if not greater by 2025. Nice table: "Lithium demand forecasts by the experts (ktpa LCE)". Hope he keeps adding to it. Perhaps we should encourage Tony Seba to contribute? ;-) Supply is almost certainly going to be short, and it'll be critical to the business plans being forged today that Lithium is able to be procured at reasonable prices. Therefore I'd be extremely surprised if we aren't currently in negotiations with the battery companies to strike a deal involving our lithium pies. Secure supplies. Early! Of course I still wonder about Tesla. Just where are they supposed to procure the volumes they will need at prices which don't break their business model? Presumably sub $6,000/t LCE. If it isn't us, then it'll be someone else, and that is a lot of lithium sucked out of the supply side. Perhaps: "Salton Sea geothermal plant would use lithium tech that caught Tesla's eye" (Feb. 10, 2017) http://www.desertsun.com/story/tech/science/energy/2017/02/10/salton-sea-geothermal-plant-would-use-lithium-tech-caught-teslas-eye/97743092/ === Critically, Alger officials say they've secured financing to build a full-scale lithium plant - and a 10-year contract to sell the lithium, in huge quantities that would reshape global lithium markets. The contract is with TZK Ventures, which itself is a partnership between Talon Technologies Group, a Washington, D.C.-based technology firm, and China-ZK, a state-owned energy company in China. === I'd wager we are looking very attractive at the moment - especially to European gigafactories! Ob.
The answers are indeed in the bunker Some fantastic research there of late Obs,you need to check in
Reading Couts's post after a long hard day is hilarious.. someone should serialize as a piece of humour Is something a foot.. are there things occurring.. Couts ... Couts I thought you had all the answers to all of REM's riddles .. oh I forgot the answers are in the bunker So funny
