Looks like we got out of this just in time pre-covid oil price collapse. Geopark price bombed from around $22 at the transaction for AMER to under $6, and has only recovered to $9s now.
This was my last oil field investment, ended up doing ok and grateful to be out. So long and farewell to all the AMER investors, hopefully money now tucked somewhere good.
Checked this morning , Geopark is a New York exchange and my broker charges £75 a trade plus management charges, not for me sadly.
Received also :-) this saga has come to an end. Good luck all and thank you.
Yep cash in my Halifax account this morning.
Anyone having a flutter on Geopark?
Yes cash arrived in my acc today.
I thought i was later as i did not accept anything but looks like we all got paid out same day in any case.
Halifax £0 :-(
Thanks Framp. got mine too. Thinking of investing some in Geopark. What do you think?
The money landed in my account (Selftrade) friday afternoon.
Cash in my account.
Although no loss, most disappointing experience ever, in over 50 years of investing and working in financial markets. But in the end, I can only look at myself for ignoring the red flags, and having too much confidence in others.
Many thanks to all the great posters here, and over on ADVFN. Will miss you
Parker
Fingers crossed. May Halifax account shows £0 now
Hopefully have some news this week
'last available price' No it will be 19.21p which was the agreed price for any outstanding shares. From past experience it is credited to your account.
Thanks will wait and see for now should hear within next two weeks.
I have been told that they list the last price they had, and when they receive money they pass it on, heres a bit of my conversation today:
The company has been bought by another - shouldn't I receive the price paid for the shares. They are currently not listed on stock market, but in my account are listed as a value of 9.54p???
You: I don't have any "recent compulsory events' to look at
Michela: The value on the account will be the last available price we received for the stock. If the company have been purchased by another there won't be anything you are required to action and you should receive further notifications to us once we have received and credited the cash.
I'm with Halifax too, there nothing helpful on the website tho.
Would they transfer the shares to Geo?
I'm with halifax, not sure what the procedure is but in the past the money has just turned up in the account, no idea what will happen this time..maybe cheque in the post?
I am just back from holiday and have seen the many treads on this, being a complete amateur can anyone tell me what I should be doing & what's happening/going to happen?
My share price was 19.12 in my portfolio but now shows as 9.54? But when I look at trading it says 19.12?

I guess we all dreamt of that mythical ocean of oil - who knows. One thing to avoid is the future of Geopark and would hate to see their exploiting all the riches of Amerisur which for unknown reasons Amer didn’t have the drive to exploit . Of course Colombia still faces social challenges- South America is a mess -
But I personally was seduced by JW but the moment he grew that beard I had doubts ! Since my first investment two years ago it has been a rough ride and without the French bid we would no doubt be stuck in the mire of 12p.
Bonne Chance to all !
Well made money but I would have liked to continue the ride. On to pastures new. Good luck all and goodbye.
I guess it’s the curtains finally.Best of luck for all
Wardle and Clarke...
Well RIP AMER. Company now in the hands of GEO. 19.21p per share payable in 2 weeks. Warden and Clarke have resigned.
Wouldn’t surprise me if some advisory role vacancies will surface within a year. No doubt that formed part of the takeover deal.
The ‘gravy train’ rolls on. Good luck to all LTHs and their future investments.
leas, thanks and appreciated.
Taverham. I expect the next RNS will be telling shareholders that the transfer of the shares has been completed and GEO now own the entire company and assets. AMER no longer exists. Transfer of monies for those shares will probably be made in the next couple of weeks.
From the RNS 14th Jan
The boards of Amerisur and GeoPark are pleased to announce that the Court has today sanctioned the scheme of arrangement under Part 26 of the Companies Act 2006 (the "Scheme") by which the recommended cash acquisition pursuant to which GeoPark Colombia, a wholly owned subsidiary of GeoPark, will acquire the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of Amerisur (the "Transaction") is being implemented. The Scheme will become Effective on the Effective Date, which is stated in the Court Order as 16 January 2020 and is when the Court Order is expected to be delivered to the Registrar of Companies. A further announcement will be made when the Scheme becomes Effective.
The Scheme Record Time for the Scheme will be 6.00 p.m. on 15 January 2020 and all Scheme Shares in issue at that time will be subject to the Scheme.
Next steps
It is expected that dealings in Amerisur Shares on AIM will be suspended with effect from 7.30 a.m. on 16 January 2020 and, subject to the Scheme becoming effective later that day, the admission to trading of Amerisur Shares on AIM will be cancelled with effect from 7.00 a.m. on 17 January 2020. It is also expected that the consideration payable to Scheme Shareholders will be paid by GeoPark Colombia within 14 days of the Scheme becoming Effective.
