Definition of 'Benefit Distribution'

Corporate actions in which cash and/or stock distributions are made by companies to their shareholders. Benefits are usually distributed in proportion to the investor’s holding. Examples include: dividends and scrip dividends, rights issues and capitalisations (bonus issues).
