Transaction in Own Shares

UME completes additional purchase of its own shares Uruguay Mineral Exploration Inc ("the Company") (TSX VENTURE:UME) (LSE:UGY)announces that on 10 and 11 June, 2008 CIBC World Markets plc purchased a totalof 52,400 of UME's common shares ("Common Shares") on the Company's behalf. Theshares were bought at a price of C$ 2.85 per share and will be immediatelycancelled. After such cancellation, the number of issued and outstanding CommonShares of the Company will be 48,667,068. On 11 December, 2007 the Company announced the current share buy-back programme.Since the announcement, the cumulative total number of Common Shares purchasedis 274,200 at an aggregate cost of C$ 816,247.
