Appointment of Non-Executive Director

ScS, one of the UK's largest retailers of upholstered furniture and floorings, is pleased to announce that Andy Kemp has agreed to join the board as Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 February 2023.

When Andy joins, he will also be appointed as a member of the Audit Committee, the Remuneration Committee and the Nomination Committee. Andy is a Non-Executive Director of The Berkeley Group Holdings plc, where he is a member of the Audit Committee and the Chairman of the Remuneration Committee. Andy was the former Chairman of PwC's Non-Executive Director advisory programme and previously sat on PwC's Audit and Risk Assurance executive board.

It is also intended that Andy will succeed Ron McMillan as Chairman of the Audit Committee in late 2023 when Ron will be stepping down from the board having completed nine years as a board member.

Pursuant to LR 9.6.13R in respect of Andy Kemp; Andy holds the role of Non-Executive Director of FTSE listed The Berkeley Group Holdings plc. As at the date of this announcement, Andy Kemp has no beneficial interests in the ordinary shares of the Group.

ScS is one of the UK's largest retailers of upholstered furniture and flooring, promoting itself as the "Sofa Carpet Specialist", seeking to offer value and choice through a wide range of upholstered furniture and flooring products. The Group's product range is designed to appeal to a broad customer base with a mid-market priced offering and is currently traded from 98 stores.

The Group's upholstered furniture business specialises primarily in fabric and leather sofas and chairs. ScS sells a range of branded products which are not sold under registered trademarks and a range of branded products which are sold under registered trademarks owned by ScS (such as Endurance, Inspire and SiSi Italia). The Group also offers a range of third party brands (which include La-Z-Boy and G Plan). The Group's flooring business includes carpets, as well as laminate and vinyl flooring.
