Board Changes
Majestic Wine PLCΒ todayΒ announces that Simon Burke will step downΒ from the role ofΒ Chairman following the next AGM onΒ 6Β August 2010. He has been aΒ Non-ExecutiveΒ Director of Majestic since 2000 and Chairman since 2005.
Phil Wrigley, 57,Β has been appointedΒ as Chairman DesignateΒ of Majestic. He will join the Board in AprilΒ as a Non-Executive DirectorΒ andΒ willΒ become Chairman following Simon Burke's retirement.
PhilΒ has a financial background and extensive retail management experienceΒ having previously held senior management positions atΒ Debenhams,Β ArcadiaΒ and BHS.Β Β Currently he is Chairman of LXB Retail PropertiesΒ PLCΒ and until recentlyΒ he wasΒ Chairman of NewΒ LookΒ having previously been its Chief Executive.
