DIRECTORATE CHANGES

The Board of Volex Group plc today announces that Ian Degnan, Group Finance Director, has informed the Board that he intends to resign as a director of the Company with effect from 5 January 2009, having taken up a new position with another organisation. The Board has appointed Andrew Cherry as Interim Finance Director with effect from 5 January 2009. Ian Degnan will remain with the Company until 31 January 2009 to allow for a handover period. 

Andrew, aged 41, was chief financial officer for SpinVox Limited until July 2008 and, prior to this, held a number of executive positions including that of chief financial controller of Vodafone UK and chief financial officer of Cable and Wireless Jamaica Ltd. 

The Board has also appointed Chris Geoghegan as the Senior Independent Director with effect from 31 December 2008, when David Beever retires as a director.

Commenting on the Board changes, Mike McTighe said:

"Ian joined the Company in December 2006 and has made a significant contribution to the business during a particularly difficult time. The Board wishes him well with his future endeavours. 

"Andrew Cherry's extensive experience equips him well for undertaking this role while his understanding of the TMT sector gained during his time at SpinVox, Vodafone and Cable and Wireless will prove invaluable to the Company as we enter 2009. On behalf of the Board I welcome him to the Company."
