Board change

Volex plc ('Volex' or the 'Company') announces that Mike McTighe has decided to step down as Chairman and will leave the Board following the half year results in November 2013.

Karen Slatford, deputy Chairman of Volex since 14 December 2012, and a non-Executive Director of since 27 May 2008, will become Chairman of the Board with immediate effect. Karen spent 20 years at Hewlett Packard, where in 2000 she became responsible for sales of all Hewlett Packard's products, services and software to business customers globally. Recently at Volex Karen has been working closely with the Executive team to optimise the sales function and to build enhanced customer relationships.

Mike McTighe said "After more than five years as Chairman of Volex and following the recent significant strengthening of the executive management team I now feel it is an appropriate time for me to step down. We have made good progress in repositioning the company and I wish the Board and Company every success in the future."

Christoph Eisenhardt, Chief Executive Officer, said "I would personally like to thank Mike for his support since I joined the company. I have valued the partnership and his breadth of business experience."

Karen Slatford, Deputy Chairman said "On behalf of the Board and the Company I would like to thank Mike for his significant contribution and leadership over the last five years.
