Aurum Mining PLC15 June 2005 For immediate release 15 June 2005 AURUM MINING plc ("Aurum" or "the Company") Board Changes Aurum Mining plc (AIM: AUR), the company formed last year to acquire gold andother mineral extraction projects in the Former Soviet Union (FSU), is pleasedto announce the appointment of Mark Jones, an executive with considerableinternational management experience, as Chief Executive Officer. Mr Jones, age 45, will join Aurum's Board of Directors on 1 July 2005 and at thesame time John Webster, currently Aurum's Managing Director, will become aNon-Executive Director of the Company. Mr Jones, who holds an MBA from Newport University and an associate degree fromColumbia University, New York, is a Mining Graduate from the Camborne School ofMines, UK. For the past five years Mr Jones has worked for Ingersoll-RandCompany Ltd (NYSE: IR), a leading diversified industrial firm, most recently asBusiness Unit Manager, Global Services, Ingersoll-Rand Europe. He joined Ingersoll-Rand in 2000 as Managing Director of the company's SouthAfrican business prior to which he held various management positions inexplosives and chemicals companies in South Africa and Thailand. His earlycareer was spent in production mining roles at Anglo American's Bindura NickelCorporation in Zimbabwe. Mr Webster will continue to provide technical input to Aurum in the areas ofproject evaluation and development, including implementation of the drillingservices agreement between Aurum and PPI.
