London, UK, 8 April 2019: Shield Therapeutics plc (LSE: STX), a commercial stage pharmaceutical company with a focus on addressing iron deficiency with or without anaemia via its lead product Feraccru®, announces that it issued and allotted 123,751 Ordinary Shares of 1.5p each following the exercise of options under The Shield Therapeutics plc 2016 Company Share Option Plan and The Shield Therapeutics plc 2016 Long-Term Incentive Plan.

Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange for the New Ordinary Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM. Admission is expected to be effective on 12 April 2019. The Ordinary Shares shall rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares in the Company.

Following admission, the Company's issued share capital will comprise 116,817,798 Ordinary Shares and each Ordinary Share carries one vote. There are no Ordinary Shares held in treasury and accordingly, the total number of voting rights is 116,817,798. This figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company under the FCA's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
