Operational Update; MechProTech Scrubber Arrives on Site

StratMin (AIM: STGR), the graphite production and exploration company with assets in Madagascar, confirms the arrival at site of the MechProTech scrubber on Saturday 15 February. The scrubber arrived in Madagascar on 1 February after delays resulting from bad weather at the ports of Durban and Port Louis.

All site preparation needed to carry out the installation has been completed. The installation will be overseen by an engineer from MechProTech and is expected to take up to two weeks.

During the delay the Company took the opportunity to carry out further planned improvements at the plant in advance of production restart. These included:

· Upgrades at the furnace aimed at handling higher volumes;

· Further improvements in flotation cell configuration;

· Reconstruction and semi-sealing of the road from the site to the main road. The new road is designed to handle an increase in heavy vehicle traffic;

Manoli Yannaghas, StratMin's Managing Director, said:

"Forces beyond our control caused a delay in the delivery of the scrubber. We have however used this time well to prepare the site for the scrubber's arrival and to carry out improvements that will help us when production starts again. I am expecting us to be in production in March 2014."
