MOREΒ MICRODIAMONDS RECOVERED FROMΒ
KIMBERLITEΒ 14Β ONΒ NORDIC JVΒ CLAIMSΒ INΒ FINLANDΒ
Second Picking Of Sample Increases Total To 47 Microdiamonds
Dyke-LikeΒ NatureΒ KimberliteΒ 14Β Warrants Further Evaluation Along Strike
Drilling Needed To Test Beneath Overburden At Target 298

Sunrise Diamonds plcΒ ("Sunrise" or "the Company")Β is pleased toΒ reportΒ the results ofΒ furtherΒ microdiamondΒ evaluation of a drill sample from Kimberlite 14Β on its Nordic JointΒ Venture claims in the Kaavi-Kuopio region of centralΒ Finland.Β
The resultsΒ reportedΒ hereΒ areΒ supplementalΒ to thoseΒ issued onΒ 29Β February 2008Β since whenΒ further microdiamonds have been recovered from the 2007 drill sample.
The sample collected from Kimberlite 14 weighed 209.82kg, and was initially subject to caustic fusion at SGS Lakefield Research inΒ Johannesburg. The resulting residues were shipped to Mineral ServicesΒ LaboratoryΒ (MSL)Β inΒ Cape TownΒ for recovery,Β weighing andΒ Β description ofΒ theΒ microdiamonds.Β WhilstΒ 35Β microdiamonds were recoveredΒ by MSL,Β the hand-sortingΒ process was hampered by an unusuallyΒ large volume of residueΒ and so further quality controlΒ processing and sortingΒ was carried out.Β TheΒ residues were submitted toΒ theΒ KennecottΒ Canada Exploration Inc, Mineral Processing laboratory (KCEI)Β LaboratoriesΒ in CanadaΒ for further dissolutionΒ using their proprietaryΒ fusionΒ processΒ and an additional 12Β Β microdiamondsΒ were recoveredΒ by KCEI during sorting of the resulting residue.
In total 47 microdiamonds were recovered. AΒ breakdown of the diamonds recovered fromΒ KimberliteΒ 14 is as follows:

TheΒ recoveredΒ microdiamondsΒ included a number of yellowΒ cubo-octahedronsΒ which Mineral Services wasΒ unable toΒ equivocallyΒ differentiate as either natural or synthetic (i.e.Β originating from the drill bitΒ during the drilling process), although KennecottΒ accepted theseΒ stones as natural.Β
Whilst insufficient sample has beenΒ collected,Β thusΒ far,Β to allow forΒ statistically reliableΒ grade modelling of Kimberlite 14, these results indicate thatΒ itΒ is probably low grade where sampled. However,Β Kimberlite 14 is dyke-likeΒ andΒ kimberlite dykes can be highly variable in gradeΒ and widthΒ along strike. As Kimberlite 14 isΒ wide (approx. 40m),Β andΒ still open along strikeΒ in bothΒ directions,Β the Company considers thatΒ further delineation of the dyke and its diamond content is warranted.
Elsewhere in the Kaavi-Kuopio district exploration has been continuing on a number of other kimberlite targets.Β
Further trenching at Target 295Β on the Nordic JV claimsΒ has failed to identifyΒ theΒ sourceΒ of theΒ kimberlite bouldersΒ andΒ diamond indicator minerals in surface sediments. The density ofΒ drillingΒ and trenching is now sufficient toΒ conclude that either the source is not local,Β orΒ that it isΒ too small toΒ be economically significant.Β No further work is planned for this target.
At Target 298,Β onΒ the Company's 100% owned claims, whereΒ a ground magnetic survey has identifiedΒ aΒ bulls-eye magneticΒ anomalyΒ close to a large number of high-interest kimberlite boulders, trenching failed to reach bedrock. DrillingΒ isΒ nowΒ required to test this target beneath the deep overburden.

Background.
SunriseΒ Diamonds plc is earning up to a 75% interest in a number of claims from Nordic Diamonds Inc.Β inΒ the Kaavi-Kuopio kimberlite cluster inΒ FinlandΒ and as a resultΒ holds, or is earning an interest in 16Β of the 20Β known kimberlites inΒ thisΒ cluster.Β Β It has alsoΒ discovered seven kimberlites in a new cluster in the Kuusamo area of Northern Finland.
Three of the kimberlite bodies in the Kaavi-Kuopio area, Kimberlites, 12, 21 and 13 have been shown byΒ historicΒ bulk sampling to have grades between 15 and 26 carats per hundred tonnes. Whilst individually these pipes may be too small for development, they may have commercial potential to provide feed for a central processing plant and so work in this area has focused on the evaluation of other known pipes, for example Pipes 10, 14 andΒ 17 and the discovery of new kimberlites.
