BOARD APPOINTMENT AT SPIRAX-SARCO ENGINEERING plc
Following the previously announced retirement of Michael Townsend on 30th June 2009 and the appointment of Bill Whiteley as Chairman from 1st July 2009, the Board of Directors of Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc, the world leader in both steam system management and peristaltic pumping, is pleased to announce the appointment of Clive Watson as an independent non-executive director with effect from 17th July 2009. Clive will join the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees, and will become Chairman of the Audit Committee.
Clive (age 51) is currently an executive director and Group Finance Director of Spectris plc, a FTSE 250 company that supplies productivity-enhancing instrumentation and controls. Clive brings with him broad international experience working for engineering businesses, having previously served as Chief Financial Officer for plastics producer Borealis A/S, and Group Finance Director and Board Member for Thorn Lighting. Clive has also served in several finance and business development roles for Black & Decker Corporation in both the UK and USA and was Director of International Tax for CIC International BV. We welcome Clive to the Spirax Board of Directors and look forward to his strong contribution.
