Northern Gas Networks awards contract to 1Spatial and Esri UK

 Leading the UK's first Utility Network Migration

1Spatial, a global leader in Location Master Data Management (LMDM) software and solutions, is pleased to announce that, in collaboration with Esri UK, it has signed a multi-year contract with Gas Distributor, Northern Gas Networks (NGN), to deliver the UK's first enterprise migration to Esri's new ArcGIS Utility Network model.

The total contract value, which will predominantly fall into the Company's financial year ending 31 January 2022 (FY22), is in excess of £1m, of which the recurring revenue element is expected to be over £0.2m.

1Spatial's platform, including its 1Integrate tools, will be deployed to conduct the data quality audit, data cleanse and enhancement to ensure the data is fit for migration to the new model, which will be implemented in the ArcGIS Utility Network.

The new ArcGIS Utility Network data model allows utilities to create true digital twins of their network and build real-world behaviours into the features they model. The project will allow NGN to unlock even greater value from its data. In turn this will improve NGN's operational efficiency, move further towards a preventative approach to asset management and provide greater insight into customer impacts. This project helps towards NGN's aim to continually improve the service delivered to 2.7 million homes and businesses across the North of England. 

In line with 1Spatial's strategy, this project is a repeatable solution for utility providers across all territories.
