Solid State plc (AIM: SOLI), announces with great sadness that its Chief Executive Officer, Gary Marsh, has died after a short illness.

John Macmichael, who has been with the business for nearly 20 years and is currently Managing Director of Solsta, the Components division of the Group, will stand in as Interim Chief Executive. John will have the support of a long-standing and highly experienced Board of Directors and senior management team with both industry and PLC expertise, ensuring continuity of leadership.

Nigel Rogers, Chairman of Solid State, commented:

"On behalf of the Board and all of our colleagues across the wider Group, our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Gary's family at this sad time. I would also like to thank John for readily accepting additional responsibility despite coming to terms with the loss of a close friend and colleague.
