Annual General Meeting Chairman's Statement 27th June 2019

At the AGM, Jeremy Sinclair, Chairman of M&C Saatchi PLC, will make the following statement:

" 2019 has started well.

We are following our strategy of winning new business by starting new businesses. Given the number of new businesses started in 2018, we opened comparatively few in the first six months of 2019. Re, our brand design company, opened in Shanghai and The Source, our insight consultancy, opened in LA and KL.

The new businesses [opened in 2018 and the first half of 2019] have already begun to attract new business. So far this year, we have won new business from P&G (Brazil), Unilever (UK), Reebok (Sweden, Norway, Denmark), Pfizer (Sydney), Converse (Mexico), KLM (Scandinavia), Coca-Cola (US ) , IPSOS (France), Bacardi (Germany), De'Longhi (Italy) and more. Particularly noteworthy is South Africa winning Standard Bank.

LIDA, our customer agency, worked with Christie's to achieve the world record sale price for a living artist (Jeff Koons $91m). Our Melbourne office broadcast a message into outer space on behalf of Lexus. Finally Merlin, our talent agency, was a key part of the team that won a BAFTA for A League of Their Own.

The Board has every confidence that 2019 will be another successful year. "
