At the Annual General Meeting which will be held on May 20th,Β John Matthews, Chairman of Regus, the leading global provider of outsourced workplace solutions, will give the following Interim Management Statement.Β
"I am pleased to report that Regus' financial performance in the year to date is in line with the Board's expectations.Β
Revenues for the four months toΒ 30thΒ April 2008Β (at actual exchange rates) were Β£334.5m, an increase ofΒ 24% over the Β£269.3m achieved for the same period last year.Β
The number of actual workstations has grown in the firstΒ four months byΒ 5.2%Β toΒ 149,974Β withΒ 48Β centres being opened includingΒ Nagpur & Gurgaon, (India),Β Johannesburg,Β Jakarta,Β Manila, Hong KongΒ andΒ Osaka. WeΒ haveΒ also opened a new office inΒ San SalvadorΒ bringing the total number of countries we operate in to 71.Β Β Β Β
Cash generation has remained strong in the firstΒ fourΒ months with our net cash balance increasing 14% to Β£115.7mΒ atΒ 30thΒ April 2008Β after having incurred Β£17.3m on our share buyback programme.Β Subject to shareholder approval at theΒ AGMΒ we anticipate the payment of the 2007 dividend ofΒ 1p per share onΒ 30 May 2008Β to shareholders who were on the register onΒ 2ndΒ May 2008.Β
While we remain mindful of the uncertain economic climate our leading indicators suggest that our currentΒ yearΒ performance remains in line with expectations.Β This continuing strong performanceΒ bears testament to the skills and dedication of the management team as well as the robustness of the company's strategy."Β
