Senior Subsidiary Appointments

Record plc ("Record", the "Company" or the "Group"), the specialist currency and asset manager, announces a number of senior appointments at Record Currency Management Limited ("RCML"), the Group's FCA regulated subsidiary.

RCML Senior Appointment

Andreas Koester - CEO of Emerging Market and Frontier Investment

Record is pleased to announce its agreement to work in partnership with Andreas as CEO of Emerging Market and Frontier Investment at RCML.

Andreas pioneered combining currency within sustainable finance, breaking new ground in developing currency lending in Emerging and Frontier markets and will focus on developing Record's Emerging Markets and Frontier business. He will also lead the Emerging Market Sustainable Finance Fund ("EMSF") currently USD 1 billion AUM.

The EMSF is an Article 8 fund under Regulation (EU) 2019/2088 that aims to support the development of local currency markets in low and middle-income economies together with improved access to long-term local currency lending. This unique investment strategy represents a significant innovation in currency markets and a commitment to the development of new sustainable investment products for private clients globally, which Record expects to have broad and growing appeal for years to come.

Andreas has significant experience in the world of currency with a successful 19-year track record, having previously held senior positions in other asset management firms in Switzerland; including Schroders, UBS and UBS Wealth Management. Most recently, Andreas was the Chief Investment Officer at Union Investment, the Frankfurt-based asset manager, with responsibility for managing the 300 strong portfolio management team and setting strategic and tactical asset allocation for discretionary client portfolios of EUR 400 billion across currency and other asset classes.

RCML Board Appointments 

Tom Arnold - Head of Client Team

Tom has been promoted to Head of Client Team and will be joining the RCML Board, subject to FCA approval.

Tom has overall responsibility for client relationships and leads the Client Team. Tom joined Record in 2015 and has been managing client relationships for Record across FX hedging and return-seeking strategies. Tom has over 10 years' industry experience. He previously worked at KPMG and Vebnet (now part of Phoenix Group).

Shaesta Wahedally - Head of Client Onboarding

Shaesta has been promoted and will be joining the RCML Board, subject to FCA approval.

Shaesta is Head of Client Onboarding and has responsibility and oversight for the Legal function and client onboarding, having previously been the Head of the Operations department. She has chaired the Portfolio Management Group since 2021 and has over 27 years' industry experience having joined Record in 1996.

Rebecca Venis

Rebecca has stepped down as Chief Technology Officer from the RCML Board and left Record. Paul Sheath has been appointed as Head of Technology and reports to the RCML Board. He was previously Head of IT at Odey Asset Management and has over 18 years' experience in financial services technology.
