ο»ΏThe directors are pleased to announceΒ thatΒ DavidΒ BlackettΒ has been appointed as aΒ non-executive director ofΒ R.E.A. Holdings plcΒ with effect from 1 July 2008. After qualifying as aΒ chartered accountant inΒ Scotland, MrΒ Blackett, who is agedΒ 57, worked for over 25Β years inΒ South East AsiaΒ where he concluded his career as chairman ofΒ AT&T Capital Inc. Prior to joining that company,Β he was a director of an international merchant bankΒ with responsibilityΒ for the bank's South East Asian operations.
Mr Blackett is currently a director South China Holdings Limited, which isΒ listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, andΒ was formerly a director of ShanghaiΒ Chlor-Alkali Chemical Company Limited, which is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and from which he retired in 2006. There are no further matters to be disclosed pursuant to rule 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules of the Financial Services Authority in relation to Mr Blackett's appointment as a director ofΒ R.E.A. Holdings plc.
