Board Appointment

The Board of Punch Taverns Plc ("Punch") today announces that John Allkins will join the Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 25 October 2012.

The Board also announces that Ian Fraser will not seek re-election at the next Annual General Meeting in December 2012 and will retire from the Board after serving for over 8 years. Since joining the Punch Board in 2004, Ian has made a considerable contribution to the business and the Board would like to thank him for his service to the company and wish him well for the future.

John Allkins will be the chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee.

John Allkins, aged 63, is also a Non-Executive Director of Renold plc, Fairpoint Group plc and Linpac Senior Holdings Limited and Albemarle & Bond Holdings plc and has been a Non-Executive Director of Intec Telecom Systems plc and Molins plc. He was previously Group Finance Director of MyTravel Group plc and Chief Financial Officer of Equant NV, prior to which he held a number of finance director roles within British Telecom.
