Notification - National Westminster Bank PLC 9% Ser 'A' Non-Cum Prf GBP 1 (ISIN: GB0006227051, Symbol: NWBD, Instrument ID: 3955)

1. | Member firms may be aware that NWBD was incorrectly marked 'ex dividend' from the start of business this morning. The correct ex date is 9 March 2011. |
|

2. | The Exchange halted trading in NWBD at 11:37am pending a decision on the status of trades executed this morning. |
|
|
3. | Market participants appear to have traded in this instrument today at prices that reflect the ex dividend period having begun. Therefore, all "on Exchange" executions in this instrument reported to the Exchange or executed on the Exchange's order book up to 11:37am should be treated as 'special ex' transactions. |

|
4. | Member firms should ensure that dividend claims are settled accordingly. |
|
|
5. | Trading in NWBD will resume this afternoon with a 30 minute pre mandatory quote period. All market maker prices and trades from that time will be on a 'cum dividend' basis until the instrument is correctly marked ex on 9 March 2011. |
