Board changes

Nationwide Building Society announces Board changes.

Following the announcement on 23 September 2021, Nationwide Building Society is pleased to confirm that Kevin Parry will assume the role of Society Chairman and Chairman of the Nomination & Governance Committee with effect from 01 February 2022, taking over from David Roberts who steps down on 31 January 2022.

Kevin Parry, Chair-Elect, said "I'd like to thank David Roberts for effecting a smooth handover over the last few months and leaving a Board that operates high standards of oversight and governance. I am looking forward to similarly effecting the transition of executive leadership from Joe Garner to Debbie Crosbie in the first quarter of our financial year."

Nationwide also announces the appointment of Gunn Waersted as Senior Independent Director with effect from 01 February 2022 subject to regulatory approval. She succeeds Kevin Parry who was appointed as Society Chairman with effect from 01 February 2022.

Gunn has been a Non-Executive Director of the Society since June 2017 and will remain as Chair of the Society's Board IT and Resilience Committee and a member of the Nomination & Governance Committee.

Kevin Parry, Chair-Elect, said: "Gunn's wealth of experience, expertise and knowledge is invaluable to the Society and its Board as we build on our successes and take the Society on to the next phase of its development. I am delighted that she has agreed to be the Senior Independent Director (subject to regulatory approval) and I look forward to working with her closely in our new roles".
