Mothercare PLC30 May 2007 30 May 2007 Mothercare plc (the "Company") Proposed Acquisition of Chelsea Stores Holdings Limited ("CSHL") Further to the Company's announcement of 28 April 2007 regarding its proposedacquisition of CSHL (the "Proposed Acquisition"), the Company announces that ithas today received notification from the Cyprus Commission for the Protection ofCompetition that it has approved the Proposed Acquisition. Accordingly, thiscondition has now been satisfied. The Proposed Acquisition remains conditional upon the clearance of the Office ofFair Trading, the Admission of the New Mothercare Shares and the approval of theResolutions by the Company's shareholders, which is being sought at an EGM. The EGM will be held at 11.00 a.m. on 14 June 2007 at Mothercare plc, CherryTree Road, Watford, Hertfordshire, WD24 6SH.
