Interim Management Statement - Quarter 1 2010
Molins PLC, the international specialist engineering group, is holding its Annual General Meeting today. This statement is issued in accordance with the UK Listing Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules and relates to the period from 1 January 2010, the start of the Company's financial year.
Sales and the operating performance of the Group in the first quarter of the year were broadly in line with internal plans and at similar levels to the equivalent period in the prior year.
Order intake is behind that of the comparable period last year reflecting, for the most part, delays in the receipt of orders which remain expected. Order levels in the full year are expected to be broadly in line with those in the Group's internal plans.
The board's expectations of Group performance in the full year have not changed since the publication of the Preliminary Announcement in February 2010. In previous years the operating performance of the Group has been significantly second half weighted and this is expected to be more pronounced this year than last year,
The financial position of the Group is broadly comparable with that at 31 December 2009.
