Monitise strengthens team as momentum builds

Monitise plc (LSE: MONI.L), the world leader in mobile money networks and technology, announces a number of changes to its Board structure as it gears itself for the next phase of growth.

John Brougham, currently a non-executive director and chairman of the Audit Committee, has agreed to join the executive team as Chief Financial Officer. This will considerably strengthen the management team as it continues to grow rapidly across the world.

John brings a wealth of financial experience built through his career with BT. Having joined BT in 1986, John was Finance Director of BT Transformation, a role focused on accelerating BT's transformation into a networked IT services company. Previously he spent six years as CFO of BT Global Services, which serves BT's large corporate customers and runs all the Group's activities outside the UK. In addition, John brings considerable joint venture experience, having sat on the boards of joint ventures in US, UK and continental Europe. John is also currently and will continue as a non executive director at the Technetix Group Ltd, a position he has held since January 2010.

Tom Spurgeon will cease to serve as an executive director of the Company and will remain with Monitise as Finance Director, reporting to John. Tom will also continue to oversee investor relations and assume the role of Company Secretary as Richard Waller, current Company Secretary, transitions to the position of Group Head of Legal.

Lee Cameron will retain executive responsibility for Legal and HR but will broaden his role to take responsibility for group business development and marketing as Chief Commercial Officer.

John and Lee will report to Alastair Lukies, Chief Executive Officer.

Duncan McIntyre, Chairman, said: "I am delighted that John has agreed to join the executive team; he knows the business well and his experience will be invaluable as Monitise and the market in which we operate continues to expand rapidly."
