Result of AGM
At the Company's AGM, held at 12 noon today, Chairman Kathryn Davenport made the following statement:
"It is disappointing to report that, following the appointment of administrators to Dawson International PLC, it has been necessary to provide in full against the Group's investment in that company, which had been stated at £745,000 in the annual report for the year ended 31 May 2012.
Also in the annual report for the year ended 31 May 2012, I described the successful financial performances of our textile trading businesses in Germany and China. I am pleased to be able to report that this strong performance has continued into the first four months of the current financial year. After two years in which sales volumes have declined somewhat, it is pleasing that we have achieved modest year on year volume growth in the current financial year, with trading profits a little above our expectations."
At the AGM, all resolutions were duly passed.
