Trading Statement
The Directors of Judges Scientific are pleased to confirm that the financial year ended 31 December 2010 concluded with a good performance.
The robust momentum evident in the first 6 months of the year continued during the second half and produced satisfactory order intake, sales, margins and cash generation. As a result the Board is confident that adjusted earnings per share for 2010 will be materially above market expectations.
Commercial activity was strong throughout the group and the order book at 31 December 2010 was equivalent to approximately two and a half months' sales, similar to the visibility experienced at the beginning of the year.
The challenges for 2011 will continue to be a potential strengthening of Sterling and the possible impact of budget discipline in the European public sector.
