Helical Bar PLC28 September 2007 HELICAL BAR PLC PRESS RELEASE NOTIFICATION OF INTERESTS OF DIRECTORS AND CONNECTED PARTIES HELICAL BAR PLC ("Helical Bar "or "the Company") The Company was informed today that the following transactions had taken place: 1. Share Incentive Plan The Company was informed on 28 September 2007 that on that date, under the rulesof the Helical Bar plc Share Incentive Plan ("the Plan"), Helical Bar TrusteesLimited, using contributions to the Plan by directors and employees matched in a2:1 ratio by the Company, had awarded 5,350 ordinary 1p shares to directors andemployees at the closing mid-market price on 27 September 2007 of 450.0p. Exercise of Share Options On 28 September 2007 subscriptions options over 13,025 new ordinary 1p shareswere exercised in accordance with the rules of the Helical Bar 1999 ApprovedShare Option Scheme and options over 899,475 ordinary 1p shares held by theCompany's ESOP Trust were exercised in accordance with the Helical Bar 1999Share Option Scheme. Following the exercise of these options the Company had 95,732,457 ordinary 1pshares in issue. Included in these transactions are options exercised by the following directors: Michael Brown Options over 357,100 shares exercised at 1p per share, originally granted over530,000 shares as 150.0p per share. Gerald Kaye Options over 427,850 shares exercised at 1p per share, originally granted over635,000 shares as 150.0p per share. 3. Sale of shares On 28 September 2007 the following Directors sold shares in the Company: Michael Brown 357,100 shares sold at 458.49p per share Gerald Kaye 427,850 shares sold at 458.49p per share 4. Helical Bar plc Employee Ownership Trust ("ESOP") On 28 September 2007 the Company's ESOP holding of ordinary 1p shares reducedfrom 5,974,701 (6.2%) ordinary 1p shares to 5,075,226 (5.3%) ordinary 1p sharesfollowing the exercise of options and sale of shares by employees of theCompany. 5.
