Director Appointments

Further to the completion of the investment by MBE Mineral Technologies Pte Ltd ("MBE") into the Company, Specialist Energy Group plc (AIM: SEGR.L) is pleased to announce the appointments of Mr Deepak Khaitan, Mr Prabir Kumar Ghosh, and Mr Subir Ranjan Dasgupta as non-executive directors to the Company with immediate effect. Each are directors of MBE, the wholly owned investment subsidiary of Mcnally Bharat Engineering Company Limited ("McNally Bharat").

Deepak Khaitan (57) is the Executive Chairman of Mcnally Bharat and Non-Executive Vice-Chairman of Eveready Industries India Limited, Chairman of McNally Sayaji Engineering Limited and a Director of the Williamson Magor Group of Companies as well as a director of a range of other companies (see additional information below). Mr. Deepak Khaitan secured First class in B.Com (Hons) from St. Xaviers College and thereafter moved to Geneva to complete his MBA.

Prabir Ghosh, (52), is the Group Chief Financial Officer of McNally Bharat and a qualified Chartered Accountant. Until 1998 he was Senior Vice-President (Treasury), heading the financial and commercial functions of India Foils Limited. Between 1999-2001 he served as President in IFB Agro Industries Ltd.. Since November 2001 he has worked as the Chief Financial Officer of McNally Bharat and has played a crucial role in the re-engineering process and repositioning the company to its current form .

Subir Dasgupta (66) has been the independent director of McNally Bharat since 2007 and has 37 years of international experience in managing the business and affairs of large companies. He set up the operations of Union Carbide in Egypt from 1978-1985, from 1986-1998 was a director of Eveready subsidiaries in the Asia Pacific region and from 1998-1999 served as the Area Chairman of the Eveready Battery Company for all its Asia and Africa operations.
