Drilling and Production Update

Gross oil production of 1,888 barrels/day as Big Sky 5-11 well commences production

Nighthawk, the US focused oil development and production company (AIM: HAWK and OTCQX: NHEGY), announces an update on drilling and production at its 100% controlled and operated Smoky Hill and Jolly Ranch projects in the Denver-Julesburg Basin, Colorado.

Highlights

· Big Sky 5-11 well at Arikaree Creek commenced production on 1 March 2014

· Gross oil production since start-up of Big Sky 5-11 has averaged 1,888 barrels/day ("bbls/day") (Nighthawk approximately 80% Net Revenue Interest*)

· The recently drilled Big Sky 12-11, 13-11 and 5-11 wells are all performing strongly and together are currently contributing over 600 bbls/day of gross oil production

· Average gross oil production in February 2014 of 1,650 bbls/day

· Further completion work required on Telluride 13-2 and Big Sky 14-11 wells, neither of which is currently producing

· Drilling program expected to re-commence in mid-March 2014 with Snowking 13-33 well

Production

Gross Oil Production January and February 2014

The Big Sky 5-11 well commenced production on 1 March 2014. Average aggregate gross oil production in the first seven days of March was 1,888 bbls/day. The three wells recently drilled in the central area of the Arikaree Creek oil-field, Big Sky 12-11, 13-11 and 5-11, are all performing strongly, indicative of a significant 'sweet spot' in terms of porosity and permeability in the reservoir. Together these three wells are currently contributing over 600 bbls/day of gross oil production, around one third of total gross production.

Average gross oil production in February was 1,650 bbls/day. Production fell slightly from January levels due to expected small declines in production from some of the older producing wells. Completion and testing work on the Telluride 13-2 and Big Sky 14-11 wells is ongoing and so far neither of these wells has contributed to production. Work on the upper Pennsylvanian formations in these wells will continue during March 2014.

Stephen Gutteridge, Chairman of Nighthawk, commented:

"We are very pleased with the results of the recent drilling at Arikaree Creek, particularly the performance of the three wells drilled in the central area of the field. We plan to continue the development of Arikaree Creek with further drilling in April after drilling the Snowking 13-33 well. Despite the anticipated slow decline in production from the older wells, our target is to increase gross production."
