Response to Erroneous Research Note

Diversified Energy Company PLC (LSE: DEC) is aware of the research note published this morning by an equity research house referring to an acquisition within the United States. The research house published its note in error. Consistent with the Company's established business model, the Company routinely engages in discussions with others regarding potential acquisitions within its target regions. Such potential acquisitions are subject to a number of contingencies including entry into preliminary agreements, satisfactory completion of due diligence, receipt of required third-party consents, the availability of appropriate financing, market conditions and entry into final binding agreements. Unless and until any transaction is concluded there can be no certainty that a transaction will occur or on what terms.

In accordance with its regulatory obligations, the Company will as required make further announcements in relation to potential transactions it is considering.
