Low power additions to VME and CompactPCI® product ranges

Concurrent Technologies Plc (the "Company"), a world leading specialist in the design and manufacture of high-end embedded computer products for critical applications in the defence, aerospace, telecommunications, transportation, scientific and industrial markets, is pleased to announce two new additions to its VME and CompactPCI range of embedded processor boards, using the low power Intel® Atom™processor.

Both the VP D2x/msd and the TP D2x/msd boards are available with either a single-core or quad-core processor and are specifically targeted to offer excellent performance/Watt. They have a wide range of input and output features, and are available in commercial (0°-70°C), extended temperature and ruggedized variants, and support fanless operation. The boards are suitable for a range of applications within markets including defence, industrial, scientific, and transportation.

"These versatile low power Atom™ based boards provide solutions for applications with a limited power budget, with the single-core variant typically consuming less than 12 Watts. The range of environmental specifications, as well as supporting operation without a cooling fan, further widens the range of potential applications for these products. The new Intel® Atom™ processor enables us to support multi-core options, error correcting memory, improved graphics and additional security and fast boot options - which are key features to many applications within the embedded markets that we serve."
