British Smaller Companies VCT PLC18 January 2007 BRITISH SMALLER COMPANIES VCT PLC ("the Company") 18 January 2007 3rd Quarter Net Asset Values The Company is pleased to announce that continued strong performance in respectof the Investment Portfolio has resulted in the Net Asset Value for the Ordinaryshares increasing 3.2% from 97.0 (after taking account of the 1.5p interimdividend) to 100.1 pence per share, in the quarter ending 31 December 2006. TheTotal Return (Net Asset Value plus cumulative dividends) has increased from 132to 135.1 pence per share. The Net Asset Value for the C shares has increased from 101.5 to 107.5 pence pershare in the same period, and the Total Return is 108 pence per share. These increases have in large part arisen following the part realisation of aninvestment in Tekton Limited which has produced a total return of 2.25 times theoriginal investment within thirteen months. These results show an increase in Total Return of 7.1 pence per Ordinary shareand 5.5 pence per C share for the nine months to 31 December 2006.
