Board changes

Babcock, the UK's leading engineering support services company, announces the following changes to the Board with effect from 1 August 2014. 

Bill Tame, who has been Group Finance Director since January 2002, has been appointed as Chief Executive of the Group's enlarged International division. Bill will take over responsibility for the South African operations and the Avincis Group, as well as the Group's business development activities in the Middle East. Bill will continue to be an Executive Director of the Group.

Franco Martinelli has been appointed as Group Finance Director and will join the Board of Babcock as an Executive Director. Franco has been the Group's Financial Controller working alongside Bill Tame for the past 12 years. 

Mike Turner, Chairman commented:

"I am pleased to announce these appointments which highlight the strength of Babcock's senior management team and the robust succession planning processes we have in place. Bill will provide strong leadership for the International division. Franco has a depth of knowledge of the financial management of the Group and will provide continuity and effective management across all areas of the Group's finance function and I look forward to welcoming him to the Board."

Peter Rogers, Group Chief Executive, commented:

"For the past 12 years Bill has provided excellent financial leadership for the Group as it has grown and developed. I look forward to continuing to work with him as he progresses the significant opportunities for the enlarged International division and the Group following the Avincis acquisition. I am delighted that we have been able to appoint Franco as Group Finance Director to maintain strong financial leadership."

There is no information to disclose relating to Franco Martinelli under Rule 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules.
