Ascent Resources Plc (LON: AST) the onshore Caribbean, Hispanic American and European energy and natural resources company, announces that James Parsons, the Company's Executive Chairman, purchased through his SIPP a total of 167,800 ordinary shares in the Company at an average price of 5.955p per share.

Following the acquisition Mr Parsons is now interested in 167,800 ordinary shares in the Company, representing 0.176 percent of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.
