Product Launch

Launch of SafeCare-All-the-Time empowers ward leaders and senior nurses to improve how the nursing workforce is deployed, enabling them to meet new and emerging national safe staffing requirements by delivering more responsive patient demand-driven staffing levels by using real-time mobile applications.

Allocate Software, the leading provider of workforce and compliance optimisation solutions, will today formally launch SafeCare-All-the-Time at the NHS Confederation Annual Conference in Liverpool. SafeCare-All-the-Time offers an end-to-end software solution that embraces mobile devices and the Allocate Cloud to allow health and care organisations to meet new national requirements, and their own standards, for managing and assuring safe staffing levels across healthcare settings.

Following the publication of the Francis Report that came out of the public inquiry into Mid-Staffordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the issue of how organisations make sure they have the right number of staff, in the right place, with the right skills to deliver safe services 24-7 has rarely been out of the spotlight. As a result, NHS England set out requirements commencing this month for NHS organisations with inpatient wards to report publically on planned and actual staffing levels for each ward, every day. Furthermore, in July NICE (The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) will publish its first ever Guideline on Safe Staffing that will set out how organisations should factor in patient need to determine how many staff are required on each shift.

The national guidance requires organisations to have robust systems and processes, including e-Rostering in place. This is because the requirement covers more than simply reporting on staff levels, it also asks organisations to ensure, shift by shift, that they have control of staff deployment; deploying staff in the right place based on the patient demand. SafeCare-All-the-Time will enable this while helping organisations avoid increasing costs through unplanned and unnecessary temporary staffing cover.

SafeCare-All-the-Time uses HealthRoster, the UK's most widely used health and care e-Rostering and temporary staffing system as its foundation; it combines HealthRoster with SafeCare and two new solutions, SafeCare-Live and SafeCare-Assure. Allocate's new SafeCare-All-the-Time solution will enable NHS organisations to meet staffing requirements, protect patients and protect their ability to deliver services.

Ian Bowles, Chief Executive Officer, Allocate Software, said:

"SafeCare-All-the-time is an important product launch for Allocate and diversifies further our application portfollio. It has been designed to respond to the challenges our customers and prospects face in both meeting national reporting requirements and ensuring safe staffing is appropriately managed providing early visibility of issues so they can be dealt with before they potentially impact patient care and safety.

Our existing NHS HealthRoster customers have welcomed the development of the application. We have received a good volume of pre-release orders and we are seeing significant interest from the wider market. It is always satisfying to develop new software products in conjunction with customers that meet such important requirements as natural extension from their existing investments in our applications."
