Well that sorted me out! Naughty Zoros.
The responses are mixed.
The recommends are heavily in favour of shorting being the culprit for this SP. The jury has spoken.
I ask this in all sincerity: if shorting didn't exist @ GGP, where would the SP be now after all this 'catalyst' reporting by SD or others? 20p, 30p, more?
If that were the case, where would it be then once more good news came out in future:
dfs / debt structuring / motherlode increases in size / more mre's etc etc. Would the SP be around say 50p...before production maybe? Then @ production maybe 80p, even a £1?
Simply because the shorters have gone home.
I apologise if my "tone" was condescending, I didn't mean it to be that way but IMO, this share is fairly priced for where we are currently. And IMO shorting 80m shares out of an available 4Bn shares is pitifully insignificant.
I guess it is ALL irrelevant anyway if we all believe that the share will be: "X" when we go to production, because all these 'problems' with the SP will be in the past and we will all be 'rich'.
So the question still needs answering: What is the purpose of the shorting that has been ongoing for atleast 3 years, if after these three years, we are still at fair value? Why haven't the shorters achieved their aim of driving the stock into the dust, either as a proxy for an interested party or for their own investors?
37p in the past was simply down to greed and everyone piling in all at once. It soon sorted itself out.
I wonder how many on here have worked out what they think the SP should be worth based on where we are CURRENTLY. Interesting to see their results perhaps?

WRT gold, and in my opinion (obviously), the gold market is controlled by various sovereign governments globally. It is they who dictate who does what and when. If for instance one is to believe JPM or similar are controlling the market, then it is because the controlling government is happy to allow that status quo. Nothing moves financially in this world without the tip and the wink of a sovereign government, especially: Gold / FIAT / Crypto.
It has to be this way. If anything challenges the stability of the "system", it will be 'managed'.

You have told us time and time again that gold will rise to "x" or has been held back in the past by certain entities.......it's the sovereign nations doing it behind the scenes, pulling the strings to keep their distance.
That is why (as I have siad before), FIAT will be king for as long as these governemnts want it to remain so. Digital currency is in the ascendency and NOTHING will impede it, short of a global takeover by another nation with a different currency (China) and then they will control the future of finance. Gold is just a means to an end. It props up FIAT physically and it will do the same with digital currency.
Crypto is dead in the water.

Because most shareholders reading these forums should be.
For atleast 3 years, certain individuals (one who has been banned from LSE) have vilified JPM (et al) for shorting this stock. NOTHING, repeat, NOTHING has happened. The stock is still at fair value and you only have to do basic maths to understand this (as the brokers (4+) have shown.
If the job of a shorter is to bring a stock down to benefit from the SP changes, let me ask you this: why in god's name has it taken atleast 3 years and counting? JPM are the current focus of attention for shorting. Everyone knows they are above the law - ergo - they can do what they like because they can absorb the punishment. So why haven't they achieved their aim - after 3 years of trying? You must ask yourself what are they trying to achieve and how laong does this go on before they achieve their aim?
When are people going to understand markets for what they are: a mix of mild manipulation and sentiment which oils the wheels of the financial world. Nothing more, nothing less. Shorting for the thousandth time, is legal in the UK, it lubricates the markets.
JPM haven't targetted GGP in particular. They have shorts on numerous companies all the time and it fluctuates daily. If they did target GGP and concentrated particularly on them, they would wipe the SP out in weeks.
3 years plus and we continue to moan and bleat about shorting......why has it taken so long?

It's been rammed down our throats for so long now - many on here blame JPM and others solely for the state of the SP, yet when you do the maths based on the latest MRE(2) resource amount, we are where we are simply on fundamentals.
The SP cannot keep rising because of every good RNS or great podcvast by the MD, it would be astronomical by now. We are at circa 12p because this is where we should be with the results we have so far. If you won't accept that then you have been blindsided.
Please remind yourselves that we only own 30% of a discovery. Put it another way: someone else owns 70% of this mine!
We have only found just shy of 3Moz ore reserve.
We have NO income.
We have no funding statement.
What are the markets to expect? They quote on what they can see not on what they can expect to happen.
[Yes - I know things will improve markedly over the next 12 to 18 months but I am talking about the SP now and why it is where it is].
Yes it exists but shorting never has been and never will be the downfall of GGP, it can hold its own ground........very comfortably.

This has got takeover in large or partial, written all over it. DC and BHP are in bed together. BHP have told DC to clean out the office in preparation for a JVA. It’s not going to be a bid for solg otherwise BHP wouldn’t care less who is running the office, they would simply dispose of them anyway after the takeover.
This is preparing the ground for aJV@Cascabel by BHP.
Out with the old in with the new.

All this talk about raising cash for this and that.......and god forbid if we are to believe Quady.....all the way to production. Feck knows how much that is going to cost;
and yet they just failed to raise a couple of pounds to get them another 6 months breathing space??? Solg is not bankable at the moment, the risks are still too high for an outsider to chip in.....just yet.

I disagree - the majors are in the room, guys. They are amongst us. They know the DC has blown it regarding cash and they are waiting. When the time comes, they will move to JV (one or both) as the ONLY way out for Solg.
And to answer your comments directly Bozi: All a major has to do is stump up the dosh to initiate construction, call on Cornerstone for their $400m contribution - watch them default and buy them out for $3.5M. What have we got: A BOGOFF.........buy one(solg), get one free (cornerstone). The rest is history.
Solg cannot do this alone, financially, or physically. The majors know this.
JVA: You know it makes sense.

Presumably they will sit back and watch Solg shrivel on the vine and then wipe them out between them.
DC knows the writing is on the wall and another failed funding round will be the end of Solg.
End of the year the 2 majors will swallow Cascabel - whole.
No wonder Ingo left.
1200 staff, charity support, burgeoning BoD - $26m will run out before end of the year!

So let me get this right, you expect there to be a bidding war by year end, so you sold out 800k earlier this year and just recently another 500k and this week you are now buying them all back ready for the bidding war, "stocked up".?

I did some homework on PER's and MV Vs income.
Two things flaw his argument:
(a) His factor of 17 is perfectly acceptable for startups with promise of growth. And we all know there is growth, loads of it.
(B) The broker prices circa 25p are based on the SLOS only. The author is projecting 10 years beyond the slos, something no broker can project. And it is this projection he uses to sleight the stock.

The bit that caught my attention was the reference about income Vs market cap based on all the brokers suggested 25p figure.
The ratio ($80m Vs 1.2Bn) being 17 fold......where he states 5 fold is generous.
The rest' I agree is away with the fairies.
Views on this particular aspect - gratefully appreciated.
