Bamps, no - I haven't missed the point, I actually stated what you just discussed. In that IF SD wants more money (by equity dilution) to explore Scally or Ernest for instance then I would be against that, simply because as Balantyre has just said - either we can/cannot get 100% debt or in less than 2 years we will be raking it in and won't need any shareholder input.
Look - the emphasis here has to be on HAV. All guns blazing please. One step at a time. Too big, too soon, and a wheel could come off.
We have approx 22 months to free cash flow. We hope to pay off a reasonable amount towards the $123m owed by using the 5% sale. Surely SD can borrow a measly sum from the banks until then? Surely?
After that, when NCM come with the begging bowl for zillions to build the underground mine(s), then all wel and good let's address term sheets at that stage but not before.
I say again - dilution where the cash is targetting the wrong area(s) (IMO) would be a disaster.

As has been said by another poster - if the new income is used to explore elsewhere or drill and find nothing......what then?
There aren't many companies with 4,200,000,000 shares on issue, we're already drowning in shares (and even SD has stipulated that he wants to bring that number down), so I am truly hoping he has absolutely no intention of further equity dilution.

Dilution - the clue is in the word! We are caught between a rock and a hard place here. IF dilution happens then we either sell up or accept the cosequences. Not good.
Consolidation has happened twice in my experience, none ended satisfactorily. Some say consolidation is a sign that the company in question is struggling with their finances.
Let's get the SP into safe territory before he starts tweaking the shares.

I did notice that he wouldn't shut the door on more dilution, when asked.....that concerned me. Consolidation concerns me too, to a lesser extent.
Was there ever an off the cuff chat about being bought out @ Hav?

IF....IF thereis anything 'afoot' then it can only mean one thing: A JVA with one of the major's.
Lasso wouldn't agree to a takeover if it meant disturbing all the good work Solg has set up over the years. He (and the neighbourhood) would want stability after all this time and frown on a Major steamrolling in with a bid.
So IF there is ANY good news for us 'plebs', it has to be a JVA.

This rejig of company exec's reinforces Solg's aim to go for production primarily and a JV or increase in partnership stock or a bid - if they come along, will be looked at sympathetically, methinks.
The thought of another 7 years with Solg does my head in.
