Backdrop to the future of mining in Ecuador.

On 28.4.21, the country votes in their general election. Lenin Moreno (his mum must have loved calling after him in the street!) is the current custodian having beaten Correa in the last GE's,.

At present Moreno's popularity sits at 18% with a low of 7% and a high of 26%. He is a very unpopular president.

In the run up to the next elections, Moreno has recently managed to sentence Correa in abstentia, to 8 years imprisonment for corruption. Correa lives in Belgium so will not be returning soon!
Having said that - Correa was popular with the poor, back home because he robbed from the rich and gave to the poor, it is said!
The ruling against Correa will become formal after any appeal processes but if Correa registers to become president in 2021 on September 18th 2020, the charges against him will be suspended until aftert the election resulks. Enough said!

Meanwhile back at the ranch, to date, Moreno has removed the third vice president from post since 2018, citing corruption. There are no other candidates registering to become the next president of Ecuador (hmmm).
Should this situation remain so, Moreno would become president again and hopefully the mining policy should remain extant and may even accelerate.........provided the country doesn't revolt against the results of course.
Let's hope Q1/2021 comes and goes peacefully in Ecuadorian politics, eh?

Lets agree that CGP own 20% of ENSA and NCM owns 14% of solg. If NCM buys CGP out it will have a majority shareholding of SOLG and that is the beginning of the end for SOLG.

BNC and Quady - Just think about what you are both saying for a minute.
Let's use the analogy of a car maker.
SOLG the wannabee car maker spends its life looking for factories to refurbish a unique car that it has discovered in a barn. It doesn't like any of the major car manufacturers out there who do this for a living (like Aston Martin/Bentley/Rolls Royce) so it decides to build and produce its own refurbished models from scratch!! It will need more than a handful of nerdy panelbeaters and mechanics to pump out thousands of cars each year on the scale Alpala will pump out gold.
By the time NM conjures up a full team of block caving operators, guess what.......................he'll be a major himself.......and that, sir, will take bl o od y decades!

The problem with your observation (waiting for PFS, DFS, TNT, LBW or whatever, is that the effing stock will stay @ 23 effing pence until then because of what O'Connor describes.

Put it another way......when, if NM (if he's still in post by then) gets around to describing how the mine will be built/financed, he will alread have realised that to do as such.....guess what?

He will need to get into bed with a major(s). You have to understand this Quady, joking aside now, SOLG cannot go it alone with Cascabel....IT'S TOO EFFING BIG! Block Caving to NM is like Quantum physics to you! (I lied about joking).
If we wait until SOLG has the technical and financial capability of operating a mine on this scale - it'll be 2055 not 2025.

SOLG cannot build any mine without a major doing it for them. This is the starting point for any argument. Two of the biggest miners on the planet knew this and so bought a foothold in the company with the intention of doing a JV with NM. Then 'out of the blue', NM decides he wants to go it alone after all and buys into Franco Nevada....and lo and behold, he now realises he's up a creek without a paddle.
The Markets are confused and irritated (as are the two majors) and this is why there is a stalemate with the SP.
As the guy on the video states....all will be revealed shortly.....and it ain't going to end well for NM (methinks). With the POG currently and the global demand for gold and copper.....NM is on borrowed time.
