in fairness there is a big Italian co that makes top drives, that are painted yellow . Dont know if you have heard of them. Top drives seem to be universal fitting. I like what they say....

the mud system is all tanks and mud channels. Sheet metal fabrications that could be rigged up in no time.

I think there were serious shortcomings with the rig that BW Robotics supplied to ZEN. People didn't like what I said, but unfortunately that was becoming apparent . All possible scenarios weren't good

thats a bed and isa transaction. The allowance is 20k and someone had used up all theirs on ZEN, obviously expecting the SP to be many multiples of what it is today

well agreed the time saving is not that significant considering we have been waiting for a month - its reducing the number of manual interventions when drilling thats beneficial both in terms of safety and just generally screwing things up

I am getting concerned though. The RNS on 27 March states the rig was "mobilised to C37". A process that should take a couple of weeks has taken two months. Either this rig is crap and this top drive business is a cover story or there is something else they are not telling us. Please ZEN lets have an update your credibility is at an all time low

all the same this genius idea could have been specced in the original order for the rig . thats where experience comes in

without the top drive they need to add 30 ft (10 metre) pipelengths at a time. at 4000-5000 metres thats 400 to 5000 actions. With a top drive they can reduce this by a factor of 3

If they need to change the drill bit then presumably all the drilling pipe must be withdrawn. So thats 800 - 1000 actions .. Could get very tedious and error prone

still regardless the A80 rig cleaned up C37 and could have production tested it. May ZEN is cleaning out another well and not telling. Its going to be a surpise . Or maybe they cant run two projects at the same time

This is still hypothetical with a good chance of success. Which begs the question why wasn't C22 cleaned up and production tested and ZEN restores that 700 bopd?

read the RNS from Nov 23 where they detected the obstruction, maybe for the first time

"As announced on November 2, 2018, the Company's A-80 truck-mounted workover rig has run in hole with a scraper to cleanout the production casing shoe at a depth of 3,904 metres. During the operation an obstruction was encountered at a depth of 1,830 metres. "

"In addition, Zenith's operational team is assessing whether to perform a further cleanout of the wellbore in the 3,906-3,987 metres interval followed by a production test to determine the natural productivity of the well from the penetrated depths of the Middle Eocene formation which are plugged with sand-solids. "

From how it reads, they decide to clean it up with the A80 rig and do a production test. That would be more than 5 bopd, we assume. Then they decided to drill another 200 metres and here we are 6 months later with nothing achieved. Maybe it will all fall together -thats why we are here ;-)

still the meandering path of Zen speaks for its self. This is about ego as much as anything

there is oil there. The problem is ZEN and its lack of project mgt skills and prioritisation . And lack of oil drilling experience despite AC's frequent claims to the contrary :lol:

maestro: yeah the obstruction has been cleared. So without any drilling we will certainly get better than 5 bopd!

5 bopd was with an obstruction. There is no info on what the initial production rates were, atleast as far as I know

AJW: The first of the TRIs has hit the board, and others will follow, with holders with very sticky fingers.

The TR1s will be from the recent placing? Not sure why a TR1 RNS should cause the SP to spike like that. The placing didn't seem to be well received
