If they sell their spanish centres they can get 180m of equity which they can use to further settle debt. They also have a average debt maturity of 5.8 years, if they did not pay out divi's that is another 1bn which they can use to settle debt out of profits when those refinances hit, this will also save them 42mn a year in interest payments.

This company has strong support from their HNW II's. Expect the results on the 1st of May to declare the rights issue for the GBP350m fully subscribed at the current market price. GBP 350m is pocket change to the people backing this venture.

@Taverham. The market P&L should not be a worry. I think over the last 5 years their market P&L has only been 3% of total revenue. Market P&L could just as well be 28m gain next quarter. The market has always been a zero sum game.

Sometimes I see bargains in markets like when RMG hit 232, SLA hit 230 or VOD went down to 131. Situations like that I just cannot avoid not buying for high dividend stocks and know they will go up eventually.

Day trading is a mugs game, I tend to trade positions over a few days or weeks instead for which I find IG useful.

With Plus you do. Not with IG. Plus has a ridiculous overnight funding rate which is why I do not use them.

I also hold a lot of high dividend stocks in them mainly due to tax reasons. I have to pay tax on div's at 37.5% on physical shares. With CFD's dividends are treated as capital gains and only pay 20% tax. I have a lot of RMG, SLA and AV.

IG overnight charge is libor + 2.5%. Very reasonable. The short pays the long. If you don't have a lot of capital then it is not for you. I have a massive portfolio, and sometimes don't want to sell my longs to fund new investments, so use CFD's. When margin calls come I sell some of my physical shares, or if i get fed up I just close the CFD's and buy the physical shares and hold until they become good.
