Frances Coppola: This woman is highly biased based on her Twitter profile. -) She forgot to mention that 80% of the rent is paid by the safe deposit boxes, therefore the stores are affordable. -) The problem is not the stores but head office expenses which are almost half the costs and employ half the people. They need to restructure there to get any benefits. -) NIM is down mainly due to negative publicity surrounding what has happened this year, they need to retain/attract deposits to function hence the promotional savings rates. This will improve next year since this fallout and negative publicity will disappear.
Odey thinks this is 2008 again. He has the big short on rewind watching it over again and again. One or two good bets and a tone of bad ones. He only wins when there is a black swan event which I don’t see happening when central banks can printy printy.
every thing which has happened to mtro has been self inflicted. no external forces apart from their own stupidity. - Loan book error - Lies about who found the error - Rights issue without details for over 3 months - Trying to issue MRELs before Q3 results
Not a single one of execs apart from hill have resigned.
This will never see £30 again, the name has been dragged through the mud thanks to current management. Not surprised Hill was forced out one **** up after another. Question is will he buy more shares .
RE: don't see how a sale is possible...23 Oct 2019 22:53
No, i think the problem is the cost base, hill is a no expense spared type of guy and the expensive branches are an example of how he operates. I think with him gone, the mgt can start rationalising. Even in his old venture his profits were low, after he left and when td bank took over, profits then started to boom.
RE: don't see how a sale is possible...23 Oct 2019 22:44
Codey the problem they had was hill. Just look at their branches, they spent too much money on them. 4m on average, other banks spend less than 1m in costs to build a branch. With Hill and interarch going this should bring some sense bank into the expansion.
The posters on twitter are mainly afro-carribean, and then you look at their tweets and realise they are complete imbeciles and unlikely to have much money or know anyone who would take them seriously.
RE: hill can buy as not closed after wednesday22 Oct 2019 11:10
How many will hill buy, he never seems to buy more than 350k worth. Surely he has enough money to buy the entire float and feck the shorter up. Mcap of 330m, pretty sure he has enough liquidity to buy 30% of the company.
