Very very quiet. Yep me neither, only on news. Barely any trades, no posts and little news. I do wonder why this is floated sometimes. Take it private for 30% premium to NAV and be done with it ;)
Garyn - I assume you’ve noted the circa £1.2m founder warrants expiring March 2020. You would think these would be used before any placings would be considered? The company has sunk significantly in market cap since last year, therefore in order to have a reasonable emergency provision of funds we need to have the capacity to issue more shares. It’s just good business practice. If all goes to plan with zoetic hopefully we won’t need it. Apologies I can’t answer the questions in your post.
As mentioned a couple weeks back, there’s clearly some large holders which want out (who’s knows who). I imagine they feel betrayed by PW and the company and want out due to principal. There’s no fundamental reason for selling now after that update. Only people selling down here are selling at a significant loss.
Could go lower short term but by the end of 2019 if all goes to plan I can’t see how this will be down here. Just my view and I don’t hold.
Jeez glacial sorry to hear, I don’t know the long long term history here but must have been bad! I certainly wouldn’t complain at a 80p SP!!
Quad agreed re LS resources upgrade. My one and only hypothesis is the timelines here are just too long for 99% of aim investors. Next payment in Dec I believe, that’s a long way away in aim terms. Need some near term excitement to compliment the long run success which the LS payments provide us.
Really like the recent gold investment. We need some more short term projects with significant upside imo. ETF’s etc are all well and good but it doesn’t get the market excited. ASND drilling will help with that to an extent tbf. It won’t take more than one or two investors looking to accumulate a reasonable investment to get this going.
I also struggle to understand what will move this up. Would it actually make a difference to the sp if Lagoa Salgada was a 40mt resource instead of 20mt? Or if we held 6% instead of 3% of ASND? Would that bring investors in? I suspect not, at least in the short term. If you're buying on that news you’re a buyer now.
Problem is we’re a tiny cap company of circa £3m. Most of the institutions don’t want to touch that irrelevant of the assets. I’m starting to think a premium placing at NAV for example would be a positive, but no idea how likely that is. Someone’s clearly got a buy order with their broker whenever liquidity comes onto the market. Where’s those swiss fellas gone?
Huge RNS this morning.
More convenience stores, another retailer signed up, sales in the UK by month end. Products shipped and in transport as we speak.
East Denver was always going to fall over time, much of the focus now on zoetic and rightly so. Operating costs should continued to be covered until real revenue starts flowing in from zoetic. Very nice
Just in time for our end of accounting year. Happy days
lol no, I save those ones for the bad ceo's ;) All genuine questions and concerns, however maybe some aren't particularly easy to answer.
Interesting to remember last year we changed our accounting year from 30 December to 30 June. When the full years results are published, with a fresh batch of money from Ascendent coming in and commodities on a good run hopefully 30th June will show good strength across the portfolio. I see ASND is back up to $0.40, would be good to see a few more ticks up before the close of the week to help out that NAV.
Many thanks Casey, and doc for the additions. The value can't be stated any more clearly than that. Expect to see us rise through the week as traders are churned and value investors take advantage
Good news. After a tricky month or two for zinc it looks to be on the way back up alongside most commodities. Can only see that doing positive things for our NAV. Gold in particular is looking good for my $1500 shout.
JV’s hasn’t replied to my two emails so think I’m on the naughty step (despite being very reasonable and polite I may add). Drilling update in the next couple weeks
Agreed. Anybody got an updated ‘sum of all parts’ calculation handy? Must be on the way to 2p I would have thought. If not will have a look myself when I get a second
Agreed. We’re now a cashed up explorer with a diverse investment portfolio (including KML which is the most exciting imo and now Sandfire). Sandfire dividends and smelters fee will bring further cash in over time.
I can see how those with longer timelines hoping for that billion dollar offer may be disappointed. But this deal is remarkable considering the current mcap of the company. I’m expecting it to do well from here
Almost at break even again. Would be nice to be sitting in 20s for when the Ghana contract lands
I’m starting to think my WSG shares might actually turn out to be a good investment. Scary times, someone knock some sense into me
Gold smashing resistance levels yesterday’s hitting 5 year highs. $1500 gold on?
And didn’t we just buy into an upcoming exciting gold producer. Plus all our other gold exposure through financial derivatives, private and public companies etc. Looking strong
The man really does know his stuff doesn’t he.
Recent gold investment sounds potentially very lucrative and a drilling update sometime next month. I also liked that he mentioned the 40% discount to NAV with hardly any tax to pay on gains as MAFL are based in the Cayman Islands. Very cheap. Interesting day or trading today too
Yep ASND being a producer are feeling the pain of low commodity prices, hopefully we'll see a trade deal and see some uplift across the board in metals.
The interesting thing I noted from past interviews with JV is he made clear that on their tactical portfolio they were never locked into always being long or short on a commodity. So just because commodity prices are falling, doesn't necessarily mean MAFL are making a loss on the price movement. Next NAV update etc will be interesting. Particularly liking the gold exposure.
lso Ascendant drilling updates can't be too far off
Yes I've seen the updated significant shareholders list. Whats with the discussion around II holdings 4.5%? People think they are shorting?
Well someone, or a few, are selling large volumes as this has been dropping every day. It attracted a few twitter traders around 24p but even the interest there couldn't get a bounce. Feels like offloading to me. Nothing stopping MEA and Ingalls from upping their stakes past 20% now right?
Evening all. Not been in SDX for a few months but i'd be tempted back at these prices when it finds a floor, even if SD is 6 months off. Key short term concern for me is why key large shareholders don't seem to loading up at these prices but off loading. Fairly strong downward pressure recently, even despite some director buys
Not to mention all the times PW said how much demand there is for Gas in Morocco. And how the demand isn’t the issue but getting a consistent supply of gas volume is. Where’s that demand gone? That issue needs to be dug into and explained more than the recent RNS statement as it’s certainly a concern.
