My personal view is that the wider market and investors are already bashing the company due "in no small part" to Tidswells continued involvement here. Comments made on here make little difference to the SP... it is just a reflection of general market sentiment... not the cause of it.

You are correct: we need to move forward... it's just that the past cannot be detached from the present or the future when you still have the main protagonist on board... investors know this, the market knows this. The only people who don't seem to realise how damaging this continues to be for ANGS is is our BOD :-(

By your own admission you are here late to the party (certainly an astute move IMHO) and others like yourself will probably gamble now on the chance of a spike on good news too... and sell out on any profit asap. Any interest here now is simply from day traders looking to make a fast buck. And yet even that strategy is flawed because - time after time - just when you thought it was safe to invest in ANGS... they dropped another bombshell that decimated the SP. No reason to suspect that history will not repeat itself...

So here we are (some say the bottom... but who can honestly tell?) Little interest from investors, all time low Market trust, nothing in the pipeline that will provide meaningful income this side of the New Year and our MD is already steering expectations away from oil in The Weald (Our original reason for investing) and trying his level best to get us excited about a £1 jam tomorrow (if you're lucky) gas project.

Given the benefit of doubt and going on past experience (yes... especially when Lucan was already in the hot seat) I would say that any success here would not only be a BIG first for ANGS... but it would also class as a minor miracle and perhaps should immediately be reported to the Vatican for certification!

Me neither Charlie. An act of desperation, because they are already viewed "so suspiciously" by The Market, rational existing investors and potential new ones.

The solution is there for all to see... it really is VERY simple. This company can not have its cake and eat it ANYMORE! It must address the issues surrounding Tidswell (correct spelling - especially for Ocelot) The sooner the better for everyone!!!!!!!

Sadly, I just don't believe that the same man (Tideswell) who put Lucan in place was genuine in his offer to resign... it's just a script.

Let's face it: Tideswell was completely inept in his previous role - catastrophically damaging to share value with his underhand actions (the coup to remove Vonk & double dealing on his shareholding) so why should he be any better in a new role - whilst presumably still on the same pay grade?

This share will be nothing other than a day trader's "temporary" refuge until Tideswell realises that by staying... he is not only continuing to damage the company's already tattered reputation... but reducing the value of his own shareholding too.

It takes courage and integrity to do the right thing. Does Tideswell have either of these qualities? The longer he lingers... I suspect NOT! :-(

Taking Tideswell out of the equation is sadly not an option if we want change.

It's a lot like giving the phone salesman more money to transfer the Prince's funds from Nigeria in the hope that eventually you will see the million pound deposited in your account - when deep down - you really know you've been had all long!

Nothing will change whilst Tideswell is in control and regardless of the reasons for his refusal to leave office... investors and The Market will just NOT buy what he is selling with ANY CONFIDENCE WHATSOEVER anymore.

The sooner ANGS wake up and smell the coffee... the sooner the SP will start to make a sustained recovery IMHO. As a main shareholder I would have thought even Tideswell would have appreciated this!

Until Tideswell goes... I am NOT going either. And I will continue calling out any spurious claims posted here until that time. Because whilst ever Tideswell (Lucan's pal) is involved in this company we CANNOT move forward and we CANNOT draw a line under the past.

You keep trying to tell us that things have changed and that the BOD is different... well it will ONLY be truly different if Tideswell resigns - as any self respecting person would given the catastrophic damage he has caused to public perception of trust in this company!

ANGS is where it is today not due to negative posters on BB's, but due to Tideswell's double-dealing and downright incompetence. If you had appointed a manager who had failed to deliver as many times as Tideswell, would you "seriously" consider allowing him to continue to pull the strings behind the curtain?

All I want is what any LTH wants: for the company to re-establish trust and confidence going forward. But I know that this is NOT going to happen by smoke and mirrors (this time around) it will take "genuine" efforts by management now to convince The Market that they are no longer selling snake oil and are serious about their intent to change....

The question remains.... are they serious about their intent to change?

The BOD read these BB's. Responding to some folk on here feels like having a direct line at times ;-)

I understand your argument. My counter argument is that if we "genuinely" want change... and sustainable SP growth to recover our losses, then that involves change at management level.

The best antidote to restore faith in the depressed SP right now is for Tideswell to resign immediately. I will resign from this BB myself - if that happens - because THEN, I will start to believe this company actually actually has a future and I may even see some of my investment opt again!

But any LTH here knows that Tideswell sold his share holding to a third party- in a closed period - then denied it... then was proven to have done it despite his denial... and still (aside from stepping down from the board) has failed to give any clarification whatsoever or faced any further sanctions. Not the actions of a trustworthy individual... and certainly NOT one you want anywhere near your investment!

Maybe this is a question you could ask on the new investor forum... and let's see if they post THAT ONE!

My guess is it will be swept under the carpet - just like The Weald Story.

6th march RNS Lucan:

"Whilst the Board expresses sympathy for Mr. Tidswell-Pretorius' legal position, the investigation has confirmed that the Company's share dealing code was NOT COMPLIED WITH and accordingly for clarification Mr. Tidswell-Pretorius will not be reinstated to the Board but remains the Group's non-board director of operations."

I guess a more "polite way" of saying caught red-handed with his hands in the till ?

Either way, we all know that he broke the rules and was caught out doing so... which was why reappointing him to the board was an issue... for now at least! No doubt they are waiting for the smoke to clear and hoping he can slip back onto the board under the radar.

You would hope that they would have learnt from the past by now - but sadly NOT.

Here's a brief history lesson for yourself and all would be investors:

JTP was caught redhanded with his hands in the till (so to speak) and was ousted by Vonk (after an internal investigation which was UPHELD). JTP then enlists the help of his city chums and appoints Lucan as part of a coup to get even and get rid of Vonk (just prior to news on Brockham which we have all been waiting for!) and crashes the SP as a result. At the time Malcy posts that "ANGS is now un-investable!"

Since JTP instigated the coup... appointed Lucan, and is still on the payroll in a shadow role... Nothing has changed here and nothing will change for the better IMHO until Tideswell is gone for good!

Yes... you could say JTP "sought a change of strategy" but clearly for his own personal benefit at the expense of ANGS shareholders. The day before the coup, the SP was worth 90% more than it is now! :-(

Granted "the strategy" has definitely changed... apparently oil was a mistake and gas is now the future... What a waste of investor's money The Weald was!

But whilst Tideswell is stalking the corridors... and still a director in all but name only... the BOD are the same old... same old... that have so far delivered failure after failure after failure...

I don't think shareholders are being deliberately negative Charlie... It's just that the astute ones tend to rely on past evidence of success when making their judgement. ANGS have nothing but failure and shareholder dilution to show in their sales prospectus...

Well it shouldn't surprise LTH's to learn that The Weald "Story" is now being swept under the carpet in favour of a jam tomorrow gas project. Hardly confidence inspiring is it!

But I do differ from Icarus's description slightly: although I am ****ed off with everything ANGS, I AM willing to consider "potential" positives on the horizon.

My argument has always been that the HORIZON is very VERY far away. Nothing near term and certainly nothing this year that is going to significantly boost sentiment or further SP decline here... despite the ardent attempts of the dreamers (rampers) to suggest otherwise.

In the meantime:

An RNS to report that Tideswell has repaid his loan and left the company for good, would offer a significant moral boost to the SP this year, as it would clearly underline that management had A) Listened (at long last) and B) Definitely CHANGED for the better!

I have plenty of experience with planning applications - both smaller and very large scale. When you say "the application was constructed with the help of the planning dept" this is ALWAYS the case. A case officer / officers is / are appointed at the outset and several meetings are scheduled to discuss various points before any application is made... but (and it's a VERY BIG BUT) the planning officer can (and very often does) change his or her mind once the application is finally submitted, because it is only then examined in greater detail by not only the officer's superiors but also various outside bodies who have a vested interest in any outcome. Changes are almost always required, together with further clarifications and technical details which inevitably lead to delay in awarding of full planning consent.

Planning officers are public servants... they do not work to commercial schedules... they are comfortably salaried and fully pensioned and have no appreciation of deadlines and rarely bow to outside pressure. Successful planning applications (as anyone with ANY experience will tell you) require two things:

1) Forensic execution of any and all paperwork.
2) The patience of a saint.

I suggest you take a very long holiday, because this is not going to be approved this year!

Where planning is concerned, I can assure you that NOTHING is done and dusted until the fat man in the grey suit puts his signature to paper... and none of them do anything any faster than they need to.

Balcombe is not going to be signed off quickly and it's certainly not going to be operational before end of Q1 IMHO. But don't worry... there will be plenty of "pumping" (hot air - not oil) for the next weeks and months by DHC and Charlie and Torreaguas to keep you satisfied ;-)

Read the following 'again" very carefully: "West Sussex County Council have up to thirteen weeks to review the application before a recommendation must be made by the Planning Officer for or against the proposal."

If you have any experience of planning applications, you would know that in 75% of cases the planning officer is minded to go against a proposal unless changes are made. The company / individual is usually briefed in advance and allowed to amend said application in order to reach a favourable recommendation. This takes time... often weeks, but more often months, as any company / individual rarely wants to jeopardize a favourable outcome.

I'm not suggesting a really long delay... but three weeks is a physical impossibility I'm afraid. Maybe you meant to say three months?

More likely end of January before this is scheduled in one of the planning meetings. Then we have to wait how much longer until infrastructure and staff are in place and ready to begin testing? Oil flowing (if it EVER does) by March... maybe... if we are very VERY lucky.

Nothing this side of New Year whichever way you look at this IMHO :-(

1) Result of investigation into illegal trading by former director Tideswell (still on full salary but in shadow executive role - hoping to be reinstated back onto the board)
2) Launch of Investor group legal action against BOD.
3) Submission of planning for the £1 jam tomorrow gas field
4) Submission of planning for the - looooooooong awaited re-visit to Balcombe. Expectation of local opposition (again) and technical issues to boot.
5) Another placing when it becomes apparent that the OGA need money ring-fencing for Saltfleetby and when Lucan tells us where our existing money is going to be spent on a yet another jam tomorrow project "away from The Weald" - as he now favours "Gas" as opposed to oil... which says a lot for the three "OIL" assets we own: Lidsey, Balcombe and Brockham doesn't it!!!!!!!
